IT Help Please: Laptop wont stop crashing

I've had my Acer 5750 for about 2 months now, up until now it had frozen a once or twice (when programs like VLC Player stopped responding) but tonight it started blue screening and crashing all the time. It happens when i have IE or Firefox open at the same time as uTorrent. Firefox will just freeze and the laptop wont recover from it, or will blue screen. I've ran the Laptop in safe mode and it seemed okay, then i ran it in safe mode with networking and it crashed again when i had both uTorrent and a browser open. The laptop seems to be underperforming on occasion as well where it will randomly run really slow even when i have no programs running. I've had both Firefox and uTorrent installed since day one and this is the first time i've had any issues with them so i dont think its the programs themselves causing the problem, more the affect of having them both running at the same time overtaxing the laptop and causing it too crash. I havent installed any new programs recently, or downloaded anything i shouldnt have so i'm ruling those out, the Laptop seems to have just developed the issue of its own accord. AVG is now doing a full scan but i doubt its virus related, i'm thinking Hardware. Is there anything i can do to verify if it is Hardware or Software related?

Thanks

Dan

On a side note i've just opened 3 tabs at once and clicked on links as quickly as possible while having Youtube running and no problems whatsoever.

Edit: I then opened uTorrent and did the same thing and it crashed immediately so its either uTorrent causing the problem or the combined efforts of the two programs running.

My daughter's 4 week old netbook suddenly started doing this over the last few days. I've done a system restore and it seems ok now - I tried a recent couple first but had to go back to 2nd December before it became stable. I'm assuming it's one of the windows updates that caused it - maybe worth a try?

if you're using utorrent i suspect you may have downloaded something you didn't plan to, and now have a virus.

do a system restore and pray

I've done a full virus scan and i use a very respectful members only website to download my torrents (i've never had a virus from this site in 5 years) so i doubt its that tbh.

Mini dump? You mean the text on the bsod itself?

Yeah.

The mini dump is what the pc writes when it blue screens.

Download bluescreenviewer. This will help you open the mini dumps and read them. It's then a case of googling the errors. It's helped me many a time to get to the bottom of bsod's!
