Car towing company damaged all 4 wheels :(

I've always worried about this. As I take pride in my car (well, maybe not the stock wheels so much), I'd hate to have it clamped or towed and damaged.

I'd be straight onto the towing company. No doubt you'd need some kind of proof that they bost them.

The solution was a simple one but actually getting them to pay is whole different ball game. They won't want to but you have to fight your corner and keep at them !!

Unless their a lovely company and roll over without you having to send solicitors letters, take them to court etc

you'll have spent what the wheels cost to replace anyway !!

Dont park where you shouldn't and it wont be ;)

I was parked in my own parking bay that I rent and have rented for 2.5 years. When I closed the door the permit slipped off the dash. Car ticket issued 10.07am, car removed 10.10am, that gave me 3 minutes to know there was a ticket, come home from work, put the permit back on the dash.

I picked up the car this morning and looked for scratches and didn't see any, then noticed the dents when I got home. I called them and they said they have a notice up that says all damages must be pointed out before leaving the depot. I said I didn't see any notice, I signed nothing, was not asked to check the car at all and nobody pointed out that I needed to find damage before I left the depot. The woman on the phone just said 'oh well, you can try writing a letter', I said if I found the damage before leaving would I have still had to write a letter 'yes' she said. Basically telling me I have no hope in getting money out of them. I have written a letter asking for insurance details.

I know, it was late evening about 8ish and I went to the local Rileys to play some pool. All the street parking was taken so I parked in furthest of the 10 disabled bays of which all were empty !! I came back a couple of hours later to find a nice ticket on my car, why the hell was there a attendant there at gone 8 !! The bay I was parked in wasn't lit at all it was pitch black so no one would really park there as you can't see what your doing. The bays were still empty when I came out and I wrote a letter to appeal it but I knew I didn't have a leg to stand on but it made me feel better.

my girlfriend has had tickets issued at 3.08am in my parking bay, 8 minutes after her visitors pass expired. I reckon they make a list of all the tickets that expire at times people may not renew straight away and then come back. 3am! went out to put a new ticket in at 7am and found it.

As Jackso said it is not always that simple... I had similar thing to you from my own bay! The guy who clamped my car sees nearly every other day. It is the only orange car in the car park, also it is registered to that bay. My sticker came off the windscreen and landed on my passenger seat! The following I see the clamp, the guy comes along & says no ticket. I told him it's there, you can even see on the photo they take for evidence but as it is not on the windscreen it doesn't count. So I had to fork out £185 (this was 4 years back) just for them to unclamp my car.

No offence guys but you know how these companies operate so you really need to make

sure you car pass/ticket etc can't fall off the screen/dash or you run the risk of it being a costly

drama

I didn't at the time, we were the people who put them to stop people leaving cars in our bays! I even knew the guy who clamped it! I contested it & they even confirmed that the reg was on their system & they could see it on the photo but it had to be stuck to windscreen.

I can understand if they gave me a ticket in my own bay but to clamp it straight away & declare £185 fee or it is towed with 48 hours & it goes upto £250! If that isn't day light robbery then I don't know what is!
