Just received my new wheels :( Not having much luck at the moment

Just got them delivered, removed the packaging to check they were all okay and my attention was immediately drawn to what can only be called "circular gauges" in the dish. As i looked further, it became apparent they were going around the entire circumfrance of the dish...on all 4 wheels :( Looks like someone has clamped onto the dish itself to remove the wheels  I've spoken to the seller, he seems to think that because it can be barely seen in the pictures on the For Sale thread, despite him not even bothering to mention it because...and i quote "i didnt think it was worth mentioning" that he is 100% not in the wrong so i'm stuck with trying to repair them. I was planning on refurbing them myself anyway, i just hope that the guages arent too deep as some of them are a few mm in depth.

Edit: The guy is now having a go at me for complaining about them and implying he wasnt open and honest throughout the whole transaction. He told me, and i quote from his message directly "i told you they were curbed"....well that makes it all okay then, weirdest curb marks i've ever seen. He also states that he put on the thread that they were marked and needed new dishes, neither is true and ive treble checked that against both the add and the PM's from the guy.

Hi I'm the seller of the wheels, I'm off the Driftworks forum, I used to be a Driver for driftworks and also worked for them, I now look after there cars, I own a motorsport garagae here in the west midlands called , as you can see below this is the forsale thread of the wheels in question.

http://www.driftworks.com/forum/wheels-tyres-sale-private-sales/162551-enkei-18x10-18x9-dish-jdm-chrome-gangster-shit-tyres.html

I put pictures up clearly showing the condition of the wheels, they where not perfect but they seemed to polish up happy enough with a quick once over.

I priced these wheels on the basis that they where JDM tyte and the fact they where good sizes and offsets, I got allot of interest over the wheels but the chap above agreed full price on them without seeing them, he asked me if i would post them and i said if he arranged it, normally i don't like posting stuff because it doesn't give people the chance to look at the parts ect ect, I had a phone convo with him, and he seemed like a nice enough bloke, chatted about what he was putting on them on ect and i told him the condition of the wheels, I told him they where curbbed and that there chrome coating was coming away in some areas, he was happen enough and said he was going to refurb them up and maybe sell them on ect.

He paid the money and they got posted (second attempt, as i missed the posty first time round :) )

Today i got a text saying there where scores all around the inner rim.. i was unaware of this so i looked at my own pictures and saw there was marks and i surgested maybe someone had tryed to clamp the wheel with a tyre machine as they maybe reverese loading wheels.. he took this as i was aware of the marks and that i was with holding info as to get a sale.. unreal.

I've sent him many messages today offering him help, But there is only so much someone can take when they are being accused of ripping someone off.

I sold the wheels on driftworks because they where drifty wheels, clearly this guy thought he could buy these and refurb them to new.. I did say to him on the phone to give a once over and maybe get some new lips for them later on, now again.. he thinks i said this because i knew about the problem.

End of the day, I didn't say they where mint, as i would have asked more money for them, you can also see i included pictures, he had every right to come view them, or ask for better pictures, its upto him at the ened of the day, i told him they where second hand rims and thats just what they are.

I'm a trusted person across allot of the forums and there is allot of people that would back me up to the fact i don't ever rip people off, I've mentioned my Company at the top here to show the fact i've got nothing to hide.

There was a que of people wanting these rims and they wouldn't have cared about marks, they are good sizes and offsets, which is what a wheel is about really, lol, I've offered him the details to them people as it would be a quick sale to someone else...

Bottom line is, when i'm buying stuff i always go and collect it in person as there is no confusion what so ever, I think i've been and i've not got anything to hide, if you can't see the parks in those pictures.. well what can i say.

The rims have been sitting for like 3 years so they are a bit dusy.. i can wipe the faces back to polished shine with just my finger, so a littel work and you will have some very sexy nice fitting rims!

These will fit nicely under and S13

I thought you might come on here and post something up to defend your "reputation", now i'm going take apart everything you just said. I have all texts, PM's and the add to back up my story, you have "i told him on the phone", and while were on it, you most certainly DID NOT tell me they needed new lips, thats something you've added further along in the text messages to cover yourself, and is, quite frankly, one of MANY indiscrepencies in your accounts. So lets begin shall we.

1.) I told him they where curbbed and that there chrome coating was coming away in some areas, he was happen enough and said he was going to refurb them.

True, you told me they were curbed amd that there was very minor chrome coating come away that could hardly be noticed. Upon inspection, this was accurate and i am happy with it. What you FAILED to mention is that they're are deep scores along the entire circumfrance of the lip from where someone has clamped onto them. When i first text you about this today, you said that didnt think it was an issue as "most people you know would just chuck them on". How is deep score marks along all 4 wheels not an issue, OR worthy of note in a For Sale add. Later on in the texts, you then claim that you had no idea these marks were even there> Explain to me how someone of your experience, a trader, can polish up an entire centre section of a wheel, and not notice something that is so glaringly obvious to an amateur in 5 seconds flat. Ontop of that, explain to everyone how you can make a decision on something that you feel is not relevant, when you apparently dont even know the issue is there in the first place. Are you clairvoyant?

2.) Today i got a text saying there where scores all around the inner rim.. i was unaware of this so i looked at my own pictures and saw there was marks and i surgested maybe someone had tryed to clamp the wheel with a tyre machine as they maybe reverese loading wheels.. he took this as i was aware of the marks and that i was with holding info as to get a sale.. unreal

So you are offically saying you were unaware of the marks, despite being as experenced as above as you have so aptly told in your opening paragraph. These are the same alloys were talking about here right, the ones you laid out on the floor and took pictures of, the one you spent time on polishing upto showcase it, but you didnt notice deep score marks throughout the entire circumfrance of the lip....on all 4 wheels...that took me about 2 seconds to notice....your correct it one thing, it is unreal.

3.) I did say to him on the phone to give a once over and maybe get some new lips for them later on

Wholeheartedly UNTRUE !! If you told me that, then i wouldnt have bought them, end of story. You told me they were curbed, that is all. Curbing is an easy fix.

4.) he thinks i said this because i knew about the problem.

I never made any assumption of the sort, you just did by typing it. I accused you of knowing about it because its SO F'ING OBVIOUS !!

The rest of your reply i wont even both going into, the whole "Sold as seen, and You should have come to see them" is a massive cop out and you know it. I called you on the phone to talk about them because i was UNABLE to come see the wheels, and i trusted your evaluation was both fair and trueful. It was neither. You purpsefully neglected to tell me about the damage, or even state it on the add as you knew it would affect the sale of the wheels. To say you didnt think it was worthy of note is pathetic, end of story. It was never about the money, it was about the dishonesty, i dont care if there worth £200 or £2000, your tactically avoided giving an honest descripion of the wheels. They're mine now, as far as i'm concerned i dont want anything more to do with you. I'll have one of OUR traders look at them, the ones i know i can trust and go from there basically. Oh and just as a finishing note, the whole i'm a trader so i must be telling the truth statement just isnt going to fly. Do you really think the folks on here are going to be that obtuse that they believe that a Trader MUST be telling the truth. Its not like there's ever been a trader before that hasnt been honest....

Thankyou for posting up the pictures, it saves me the hassle. The bottom one is the one you polished up to showcase the wheels. How long did that take you can i ask? However long it was, are you trying to say you didnt notice the marks AT ALL? Thats what you have claimed. Now i know what i am looking for, i can see them even at this resololution, did i notice it before..no...is it a hell of alot more noticeable now that i have them in my person....Yes !

Looks like their in need of a refurb going on how much kerbing is

on the one in the pic.

The kerbing marks on the wheel above will be easily removed

I'd split them and do them properly though.

Thats exactly how i saw them Dnk, just in need of a bit of TLC around the rims lips where they were curbed. That isnt going to be a problem, i can do this myself no problem. Its the scores all around the lips that i'm contesting.

To be fair from the pictures they don't look in great condition so I would say the pictures do all the talking they need to. I can see all the marks you have mentioned and I can also see how badly rashed the outer rim is. I wouldn't have been at all surprised receiving them and seeing the damage you have mentioned to be fair, it's in the pics.

What has gone on via PMs, texts and phonecalls is between the both of you guys but those wheels don't look great in the pics and appear to be as advertised unfortunately.

Very surprised you went for them, especially at that cost. I would give them a scrub up as best you can by hand (I wouldn't spend money getting them done) and sell them on bud.
