A baby was also flushed down a toilet in America and died. I wouldn't then go stating that all American people are immoral and are all sickos. Scott
You shouldn't judge a WHOLE country based on the acts of a small percentage of the population. A baby was also flushed down a toilet in America and died. I wouldn't then go stating that all American people are immoral and are all sickos. It's different bud. In China it's been documented over the past few years, especially so in the past few months, of just how low the country has ended up morally. If you take the example of the child in America, if/when the public found out about it there would be outrage and disgust. In China it has been shown very clearly that noone really cares. Did you see the video with the kid being knocked down, ran over numerous times while people just walked past ignoring the child? This isn't an isolated incident, it's just one that has came to light in a global scale. It has been said by many people within China that the laws need an immediate shake up and the people of the country really need to wake up and take a good look at themselves. It has nothing to do with race or religion, no racism or prejudice is involved. It has to do with the morality of the people living in the country itself. The government and the laws in place are taking the blame of the low value of life in the country, to a certain extent I can see how that would come about. At the end of the day if you aren't brought up with any morals you won't have any.
Dim Sum
What I'm trying to put across is not that it doesn't happen but that not all asian people are like that. To lump every single one of them together is not right either. I have family members who live in China and they think it's disgusting too, but to include them as the "sickos" because they live there is just stereotyping. Scott
By the way, I just had a look and I agree that the wrong wording was used. Just for clarification this has nothing to do with Asian countries as a whole, it has to do with China... the country and the low moral standing within it. Not Asia and not Asian people. There are people in China that are outraged just as much as the outside world. These are the people that are trying to send a message to the government and trying to tell their story to the rest of the world. It's certainly not the whole population by any means. It is absolutely rife though, there is no denying it. I'm not sure if it's mostly an issue in poverty stricken areas or not? Where people are afraid to be sued for helping out etc? Dim Sum
I'm just sick and tired of how people make comments where they blame the whole country and not the individual people who actually committed the crime or act.

It's not bad individuals that's the issue. It's the low moral standing of the people living in the country, everyday people with jobs and normal lives. Life has very little value now in China. It's well documented. It's like Scotland having a drink problem. That doesn't make everyone in Scotland a drunk, but the issue can't be denied. I think these sort of cases mostly happen to the people in poorer areas. The richer people can pay a fine for having extra children, whereas the people who live in poverty don't have the abilities to do so and survive as well. About the people being afraid to help, it is because they don't want to be sued (this has happened) and the poor people can't afford it. Also if you help someone and take them to the hospital, you have to cover the cost of the medical bill before treatment can be received. So if you help a poor person or someone who is unable to pay due to being unconscious, you have to pay the bill. I'm not trying to give excuses here. Just trying to answer your questions on why China is in that state and why there are those who are unwilling to help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6d8HVOYgig Have a watch of that bud. Nah, I didn't mean to come across as denying that there is a problem. I simply wanted to state that it's stereotyping and ignorant to lump each and every Asian person together as being immoral. I have no problem with how sick and disturbing the cases are (as this is true), just the ignorant comments.
