Attero
This thread could go down pretty quickly during these economically crap years, but I thought I'd go ahead and see. Who's going skiiing this winter? I've just been to the Sno!Zone in Milton Keynes this weekend as I haven't been in 5 years. Got straight on the slope and everything came straight back to me so that was great! I've got about 3.5 weeks real experience and a further 1-2 weeks of dry and indoor slopes. I'm going to Les Deux Alpes in January with 15 other mates (and coincidentally another group of guys from the local car club are going out that same week). Booked out a chalet with a Sauna and free food and drink (with meal) for a week. It's going to be one hell of a week! I'm normally used to a bit of skiing in a tree-populated resorts as I love the sense of adventure and not-knowing what is round the corner. Les Deux Alpes is more of a snow desert (especially on the glacier) if I am looking at all the right photos. Has anyone been to Les Deux Alpes before? TheTurtleshead
Les Deux Alpes is sick! Went glacier skiing so I didn't get the full winter experience, but it looks amazing in the winter! Really vibrant place, and lots to do apres ski! Its pretty barrren in summer, and to be honest its probably not the place to go if you enjoy blazing through some trees in deep powder But I'm sure if your going with 15 maybes it will be a trip to remember! I'm not really talking about off-piste, although I do enjoy a bashing through the barely gapped trees. Had some good times off-piste. I just love the scenery, skiing through trails like this (not cross country - hate the idea of that! ): http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/TreePhoto/TreePhoto0701/TreePhoto070100034/711409-ski-trails-at-sovereign-lake-at-silver-star-mountain-british-columbia--site-of-2005-world-cup--see-m.jpg I'm hoping to do a bit of freestyling this winter aswell. The glacier should be good for this kind of thing, I'd imagine.
