Chris Wilson
Having done the R&D for a member here I can now rebuild TOM'S ADVOX dampers. The issue with these was they deliberately used an odd ball shaft and guide size for which no seals are now available. I can convert to a new piston rod different of common diameter, and a new top guide bush and retainer and a much better quality seal. They are also in the process converted to top adjustable damping via an anodized knob, to give on the damping changes. Gotchas are if the spring seats are corroded solid, or the top guide retainer ring is corroded solid, but at least there's a good chance they can be rebuilt and improved. Obviously I can also re charge them with nitrogen, too. Edited November 28, 2011 by Chris Wilson (see edit history)
