The Raven
I saw one the other day, first time in the flesh. I love the look of them kinda like a supra on roids! and the sound..... Anyone ever owned one?
Scott
I checked out the insurance a few years back and silently stepped back from the PC
Josh
The first and only time I've seen (or recall seeing) one on the road was in Weston and the guy raced off down the sea front. It sounded pretty amazing! I'd love one, but the LHD and insurance would put me off!

Brazil
That's nuts...! I bet it's a pretty thirsty motor..! ;-)
add heywood
I've liked them ever since I was a kid playing the very first "Need for Speed" (incidently where I first got the love for the Supra). I remember watching a program once about a nurse who was about mid twenties, she had saved up since being a child and bought her favourite car of all time.... A Viper!! Luxluc
That would be my choice if I had to go for a Viper http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/venom1000.html
Dnk
Thats not exactly a viper engine bay though Stock has no turbos and is an 8 litre na v10, a mate had a GTS a few years ago in blue, very cramped cockpit and i dont think it had abs. Felt a bit vague to drive but pulled like train

Luxluc
In a German mag, they tested the 2010 model. Conclusion : awesome power, awful to drive, needs a very skilled driver to keep it on track.

Pretty much as it's always been with those cars. Over a ton they can be tricky to keep a hold of.

Pre about 2002 (or maybe it was 2004?) they had no ABS or Traction control - which you'd think on a road car of that sort of power would be considered as an essential. The newer models have it as standard though.
The Raven
Insurance. I wonder if they come under the classic car effort like my supra does. The mpg must be 10?
chazuk
Love the stance of them on the road , but you need to see the dash to belive it looks like something out of a ford G sierra and thats in the 2003 - models.
Chris Wilson
If you want a fast lorry there are some serious torque tractor units about these days I have a customer with one, typical lousy Chrysler build quality and drinks fuel like a fish. Putting a V10 truck engine in a suspect chassis is not exactly subtle or "European"
CraigGilchrist
Love the viper too. It was always one of my favourites on Gran Turismo as you could modify them to the point of being completely undriveable due to the crazy power going to the back wheels. Saw this one when walking home from work a couple of weeks ago. Looked awesome, even in matt black:

stevie_b
I couldn't live with a left-hooker in the UK. Having to get out of the car at ticket barriers, toll roads etc and not being able to see to overtake would grate.
Dnk
A viper as purely a weekend toy would be okay but i wouldn't want one as an everday car.
