Chris Wilson
If you paint the rest of the car like that it would be ideal for dogging in the woods

Noz
Finished the test intake peice, not 100% I'm a fan. Still undecided to be honest. Using heatproof paint has given a slightly different shade and it's not a smooth surface to begin with, maybe if the other intake parts match it may look alright. Scott
Not convinced on the individual parts, will reserve judgement till it all comes together though as it might look great
ripped_fear
Hmm not sure on the texture of it coupled with the design. Try it on and with the rest it could work well. If it doesn't I would just paint it black or silver.
tkddav3
if your whole bay colour scheme was like this imo your definitely on to a winner there!
Noz
Not convinced on the individual parts, will reserve judgement till it all comes together though as it might look great I think I might go with the powder coat idea once again if it looks naff. I'll swap it with the current one sometime this week see if it looks alright. Don't forget to hit me up a bout that gauge when it arrives Jake. Thanks mate I'll maybe try and do a few more bits, if it doesn't work I'll get it all sand blasted and start from scratch.

Noz
Had these made up. 316 Stainless Steel heater knobs. Tempted to silver plate them, but really like the finish so will see how they suit when I get some heater dial surrounds. Car's in the body shop sometime this month, am looking forward to getting some new bits fitted Edited May 30, 2013 by Noz (see edit history)
Pulley
They look nice, I'm gonna do some nerled (can't spell) ones possibly stainless or Ali
Noz
Thanks mate. `Knurled` grip would look awesome. You would need to grip the knob from the inside, I'd be worried about the thickness. 2mm was at thick as I wanted to go. You'd want to go 3mm if you used Aluminum wouldn't you? Did you make up any stock ones yet.
Pulley
I'd knurl before I parted it off from the bar, knurl/bore out/ part off Im eithe going to make myself complete knobs or very thin covers, 1mm ish
Noz
I held mine as I bored it, mine had to be 2mm. Knurling before would be the easiest option for sure. Don't think you'd even be able to do it after.

ripped_fear
well done mate they look very nice, you need to make some dial backings now to match the button backing and knob.
Noz
Was going to order some yesterday mate I agree with you. Was thinking I might get chrome rings first and see how it looks? I thought just the backings it might look a bit out of place?
ripped_fear
It may look out of place but with the chrome backing behind the buttons I think it would work. Although the dial ring would probably look cool too.
