bigbloodyturbo
Yes, I just thought I'd be facetious:innocent: Well yes, but you know what I was getting at
dandan
If you look at servicing over the next five years I would bet my single Supra will be far cheaper than that beemer. Modern diesels are a nightmare IMO, especially if you are not thrashing them up and down the motorway everyday.

That's less of a common problem than you'd think

dandan
Are you referring to the DPF? That's less of a common problem than you'd think I know a lot of people having DPF related issues - mostly people who pootle around town/suburbia and never do any long journeys. I heard there was something on TV (Watchdog or similar) about the new little Fiat 500? that is having lots of issues with the DPFs not regenerating. I was also referring to inlet manifold butterflies and actuators clogging up, control diaphragms splitting, EGR valve assemblies sooting up, dual mass flywheels wearing out..... 100,000 mile life on my diesels! That's nothing My dad's 2001 diesel Astra is about 200miles off 300,000miles now. Going to look at another one this week as it's proven the most reliable motor we've ever had.
