stevie_b Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 One of the radiators in my home has sprung a leak. Luckily it's a very slow leak but I want to get it replaced as soon as possible. I'm pretty sure all my radiators are steel ones, but I've heard that aluminium rads are good for heat output. Whilst I've read that there's no problem in mixing and matching rad types, does anyone have any views as to whether they're any good? It's been said that they heat up quickly, but presumably the converse is also true (they cool down quickly). The current rad is an imperial size (45" wide, or 1149mm if you prefer new money ), so does anyone know of anywhere that sells alu imperial rads for sensible money? Plumb Center are eye-waterlingly expensive. Wickes's prices are good but they only do metric sizes which will mean fiddling with the pipework to get it to fit. Whilst I don't mind fiddling if I *have* to, I'd rather just get an exact replacement. Thanks in advance. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
