Bobbeh
I got home from work to hear that he died today He had a broken back leg/hip due to the bad fall last night, they x-ray'd him at the Vets to find bone cancer/tumour, his back end (bones) had begun to thin so it was decided to put him down. - sigh. I'll miss you buddy. BEST CAT EVAR!

Green Peace
Thanks guys, he had a good life, must have been around 18 years old. Awww sorry to hear this...he looks very sweet in the picture..18 thats a very good age for a cat..you must have looked after him very well. I remember when my dog died...I had grown up with him (a border collie) he developed a form of luekemia (soz cant spell) and he started to deteriorate (cant spell that either) and it was so painfull when i had to take him to the vet to be put down...I would try desperately to feed him gloucose and other things prescribed to improve his condition to no avail..and in the end i had to carry him outside to go to the toilet..some nasty old bird in one of the other flats where i lived with my parents (i was only 17 then) shouted 'you should feed that dog !!! it was the day after that my parents decieded he had to be put to sleep and i hugged him at the surgery then left the room..the sad thing was he stumbled about and tried to follow me...I still think of him all these years on..he was my best mate...I tried to not cry coz didn't want to un-nerve him. Time heals and at least he is not suffering now... Si
Paul
Sorry to hear this mate. As said, a good age but it don't make it any easier. I'm more a dog person but love all animals, got to say he looks great in that photo. We had two dogs up to a couple of years ago and we had to have Gemma, the older one put to sleep as she had lost the use of her back legs and had suspected bone cancer in her foot. The vet put her to sleep at our/her home with me holding her paw, one of the hardest things I've ever done. I know exactly how you feel. paul_y3k
sorry to hear that know exactly how you feel as I had to put my dog bareny down after 16 years due to a stomach tumour, where he could not eat and wouldn't eat. but we took his ashes down to his favorite lake, and he's always down there now chasing the swans. michael
I think I feel more for animals than I do humans. Likewise, I'm a soft sod when it comes to animals - couldn't give a toss about most human types though.

merckx
Very sad, sorry to hear this! Sometimes I think I feel more for animals than I do humans. I do aswell, nothing wrong with that though! Our cat died when he was 12 1/2, he hadn't been well for a while. He came into the kitchen and his legs just went from underneath him, luckily I managed to hold him. Had to get him put to sleep that morning, you've got little choice in the end but it's always the kindest thing to do.
