Guest ugp
Nope, pads fall out of the bottom.
Dnk
The pads will only come out the bottom if you unbolt the caliper, i think you need to have another look and take a pic of the caliper from the side and post it up to show the heads of the pins. The tabs in blue stop the pads from coming out the bottom or they'd hit the disc ! Chris Wilson
I would expect as dnk says, for the "pins" to be two cap head Allen bolts. You shouldn't have to remove the calipers to change the pads. Have you asked Paul Whiffin if this is play normal? Or rung KAD?
Guest ugp
Pads definitely don't come out the top, they're too big. Looks like them pins may come off though, looking at the caliper they've never been removed before. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=130477&d=1302857926
Chris Wilson
The bridging pieces on the top calipers, and the two tubes on the lower ones should have Allen bolts through them, remove the bolts and the bridges should come out, they are to hold the pads in and stiffen the caliper against lateral expansion. You can see the "joints" in the video. I would be alarmed if KAD say they are the correct pads, or no abutments are missing... Guest ugp
Ah I see, they've never been removed before, the paint is perfect over the joins. I've pm'd Paul Whiffin, hopefully he can shed some light on the issue.

Guest ugp
http://www.kad-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=51 Hmmmm. Oh great. Thanks for that Chris! I'm not surprised a pad was misplaced with the amount of movement in these! I shall get on the trumpet to KAD this afternoon and see what they have to say. sideexitsupra
Do phone Paul Whiffin. SteveL uses Kads on his race car and they know them well. He will also be able to get you some decent pads;-)
Guest ugp
I have spoken to Paul today regarding these, it would appear I have the original set of pads that KAD supplied with these, and there were some that had the wrong size pads supplied, which appears to be the problem I'm having. Paul will be trying to sort me some new pads when I get the measurements and drawings over.
