JamieP
Anyone bought one off ebay? they look decent value at £720 supplied and fitted. Anyone know of or find any better deals? Cheers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FULLY-FITTED-ELECTRIC-INSULATED-ROLLER-GARAGE-DOOR-/180752962700?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Doors_LE&hash=item2a15b7548c
sideexitsupra
Someone on here is now doing this for living. Had a Facebook page up for us to like. Will see if I can find it again. He may be able to do a deal!!! Edit: it's Aero-M
JamieP
Yeah he gave me a price of over £1200 plus fitting on top for an up and over single door.
b_have
I paid £1400 for mine (looks similar to the eBay one) 4.2m wide but had to fit it myself. That was five years ago and still going strong.
Aero-M
Jamie, my price was 928.80 for a hormann retractable door, steel frame and hormann electric operator. Which is giving a massive 25% discount. As for the ebay roller doors they really are that cheap for a reason. I have truthfully removed quite a few that have been 1_2 years old and have broken. If you want a decent roller door look at the sws securoglide or the hormann rollmatic. Both will be around 1400 ish for the sizes you gave me. martyn. JamieP
I realise now when you said 25% off you was talking about the door, i thought you was on about the fitting charge, its still more than i want to spend tbh martyn, thanks anyhow. Yes looking at it again I didn't really make it that clear, my bad. Just so you have some kind of idea of a sws door to compare the ebay one to . The sws is 1403 plus vat, and I get 45% discount from the manufacturer so I would pay £925.98 that gives you some idea of what you would be getting at 700 fitted from them. I don't want to put them down because it will work and do what you want it to and if you only wanted it for a couple of years before say moving then it would be worth it. Thanks Martyn. SupraAyf
That's a good deal and the advert does state 5-years in respect of the motor warranty - now that's the important bit.
tomgeer
I bought two electric roller doors roughly 7.5ft x 7 foot from this company:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roller-Garage-Door-Upto-2-6m-8ft-6-x-2-3m-7ft-6-/120755063227?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Doors_LE&hash=item1c1d9009bb Had to fit them myself but they are a doddle, did one side by myself. Can't complain, arrived in under two weeks, made to my exact measurements and fit like a...errr door They are called rollerdor i think, the guys name was Colin. The pair cost me under £900 delivered. tomgeer
Jamie, just make sure you tell him whether you want a wireless remote key opening door or a manual key switch. I ended up with the manual one which wasn't what I expected, but to be fair I should of read the quote properly
JamieP
I ordered it from him this morning mate, 8ft 6" with two remotes for £599 delivered, it will be here wensday.
tomgeer
Can't argue with that can you? we expected to pay about £2000 for two doors so were chuffed with ours for under a grand.
JamieP
Yup, well happy with that, cheers for the link. Just got to build the garage now.
tomgeer
No problem, best 10k we've spent has been on our garage IMO, not in my wifes though, she says she's become a garage widow now.
supra_bus.
I wish I still worked at a garage door company but that was 6 years ago I could get everything cheap no wonder it went bankrupt!!
