far
Well we live fairly close to Gatwick and from time to time neighbours friends/family leave their cars on the road or in their driveways. Some f*ckwit has left their car across our driveway, I mean right across it for the last two days, any ideas what I can do? This seems to be a grey area with different forums/people saying different things when it comes to dealing with it, I've phoned the police and they were not very helpful. Thing is my wifes car is stuck on the driveway and she hasnt been able to get out and both her and our 16 month old have been stuck indoors and I have had to leave my car on the road for the last two days which isnt ideal as its not a small car any ideas? Brazil
Can't you tie a rope to it and drag it out of the way? Or you could get a big car jack that has wheels and lift the front or back and move it around...!
Westy
If there is a car blocked in then it is unnecesary obstruction and they can be fined etc...but if its blocking you out there is nothing that can be done as its parked on a public road and not causing obstruction (idea is that you can park elsewhere). ronttuk
When this happens to me I contact the parking wardens they ticket the car but never move it
adam1983
You could get a few mates to come down and lift it so that you can roll it forward.
JamieP
No way i would put up with that for 1 second, smash the window and push it in the middle of the road.
Neil-NA
We get this alot where i live, people have actually parked on my drive but never for more than an hour or so, don't know how you have stayed calm for 2 days mate.
Aero-M
No one can block you in your drive if you have a proper dropped curb, I would get a big vehicle if you can and drag it out the way, then when the owners return find out why they are such morons
Gabriella
I would rip off the number plates then contact the police with information that some dodgy car is parked without number plates etc
ellis
Drag it out of the way and dump it somewhere else mate. You know damn well that the authorities will do absolutely nothing. Unless you tell them it's ticking and the back end looks suspiciously low!!
tkddav3
i would not take that, id get our lorry or borrow a tractor from work an tow the thing out of the way, some people are just muppets

Supra Gaz
From a legal point of view you can not get it removed. As has been mentioned it is not blobking you in, but stopping you from putting your car on the drive. Personnally i would hook it up and pull it out of the way, and dump it in the road, it will then be removed as obstructing the highway and the owner will be fined for the removal and storage. Your Q7 will manage it.

Aero-M
Another thing to do is buy a wheel clamp and leave your mobile number on it, that way they can't just move it while your out, , make them pay add much as the clamp cost before taking it of. Lbm
Maybe it's been nicked and dumped? So perhaps without damaging it you could tow it away somewhere?
Josh
I'd take the advice of dragging it into the middle of the road and getting it towed.
The Raven
For the love of god done damage it. We all want to break into it and move it but you will get done no ifs or buts. Id report it to the police saying your worried its been stolen and dumped.
SupraDan24
If it were me i'd just tow it out of the way, i wouldnt dump it in the road though as that could leave you open to the ramifications (if thats how you spell it )
SupraD06
If it where me, id park your car as close as physically possible to the front of their car, and get a mate or a neighbours car and do the same at the back, that way you've caused no damage, but then they will have to come knock on your door to ask you to let them out, not only can you give them a mouth full, but id tell them your just having your tea, and cant move it for an hour or two In an ideal world, it would be far more satisfying to get a few mates to just rock it onto its roof and just leave it there. Havard
Surely it's causing an obstruction? What if you didin't live there are your wife had no other means on transport etc. Your patience is exemplary but I would imagine if the same thing happened in my street, that car would be going missing in the early hours. The Police must be able to shift it or we'd be blocking everyones drives? H.
Tricky-Ricky
Drop a match in the tank, it will get shifted then;)

Great idea! Then put a warning sign up so next time it's all legal. Works for the cowboy clampers and they charge whatever they like. Could turn into quite a money spinner if the sign is in small print.
