Rinus
Hello, I'm installing the 264 cams... But when I want to check valve clearance, I have to turn the camshaft to check the other clearances. Is this possible without the the timingbelt on?? It has 9mm lift, does it become interferance? Checked the search, read somewhere valvelift has to be more then 10mm, but like to be shore... Any tip with installing would be nice, as its my first time... Chris Wilson
Yes, none interference, but, for future reference, you can, on some engines, have cam A and cam B both of say 13 mm lift, but cam A is none interference and cam B is not, as duration also comes into it. You can also have twin cam engines where the exhaust and inlet valves will touch one another, but not touch a piston. You need to be VERY careful. Rinus
Ok thanks for the tech info! Didn't thought that inlet and exhaust valves could hit eachother, but with that kind of lift its more logical... So 264 non-interferance , will feel a bit frightning to just turn one cam at a time... dude
272 HKS are also non interferance, the titan 280,s in either lift are not !!!! Edited November 19, 2011 by dude (see edit history)
Rinus
Will be full engine build before I go bigger as the 264 ones, better fuelling, better clutch, better wallet Good to know that 272hks is also non-interference, feels a bit safer know
