Scott
I bought a PS cooler and it came with a relatively short amount of hose. It's easily enough to do 1 side of the cooler but I'm guessing they assume you use the stock hose as the return. Unfortunately as I'm looking to mount mine the stock hose isn't going to reach very easily so I just want to replace the whole lot. Now, the hose that I got with the PS cooler kit looks fantastic. It's 10mm ID with around 25mm OD. I can't for the life of me find anything even remotely this size. The closest I can find is 10mm ID with 17mm OD. Is this good enough? It's rated to 10bar which I assume the PS won't be close to? Lastly, what is power steering fluid? Is it just an oil? Is nitrile reinforced rubber ok for the job? Thanks
Chris Wilson
The cooler is on the return side, or it most definitely SHOULD be. It won't see even 3 PSI, so anything oil resistant is fine that will be happy up to say 120C. PAS fluid is ATF, so anything OK for ATF is fine for PAS (unless you have a Citroen. Maserati or Rolls Royce that uses mineral oil...).
Scott
Ideal, thanks Chris. Yeah it's split into the return, I just meant the return side of the cooler
