If you spoke to Keron, he can supply the full conversion and do it for you, which may be the cheapest and easiest route.

If you want to try and source the parts as cheaply as possible and do it yourself, then obviously I'm sorry for butting into your thread :D

I would have thought it easier, cheaper (overall and on insurance) and quicker to just sell the NA and buy a TT. I can never understand the reasoning behind doing an NA to TT transplant unless its an Aerotop.

Some people do it because they've grown attached to the cars. Personally i'd only ever do it if i managed to pick up an NA with a huge spec really cheap ie widebodied or generally at a show standard.

thanks for all the comments guy theres alot of sence in the selling the NA and buying a TT but for the price i payed for the car in its condition with all the extras and the price for a manual tt in good nick i disagree with it being cheaper just to buy a TT.

Im going to be doing all the work myself, i am tempted to go via kerion and get him to do it all but its the distance he is from me that puts me, if he was more local id be tempted but im more of the type of person who likes to go for it myself, makes the whole thing more personal in my eyes, plus thats the whole fun of it.

Obviously im all open to opinions thats why i joined the forum and im sure theres a hell of a lot more people that know alot more them ame about these things.

But yes im going to go the TT route and intend to do it myself.

The manual tt's have a 6 speed box and will cope with much higher hp than the

na 5 speed box hence their more money.

Im not sure what the na 5 speed will cope with but is bpu pushing it or is that the na autobox ?

This could be rubbish so i'll await to be corrected :)

Have you thought about going down the NA-T route? If you can source the parts at the right price and are up to fitting them yourself it can be a bargain! I did it two years ago and never looked back. Dyno proven 374BHP at a cost of around £1200 in parts plus mapping. you would need to spend that to get a TT to a similar power level.

Yeah i actually looked in to the NA-T route first but then decided id rather go the TT route as from then i can do a hell of a lot more if i wanted and alos its proven reliability aposeded to turboing somethign that wasnt designed to have it done.

I know the NA-T route would be great but want to keep my options open to futre massive upgrades

Yeah i guessed the clutc hwas probably worth replacing durring the build so will put an uprated clutch i there when i do the conversion

if you own an NA and your going TT your going to hit 2 problems if u want massive upgrades. first being gearbox limitations, second being TT engine will hit 400bhp and without costly twins or going single you won't see much more. going single on a TT ££££££££££££

the cost to put a TT lump in, then go single to get 500+bhp will be more than going NA-T, lowering compression and required modifications to hit 500bhp.

the only benifit in my eyes is going to be the reliability, but then NA-T's have been pushed to higher levels with no issues when done correctly. right set up, right tune, right modifications, no problem. going 500+ it wont matter what engine you use, as your want the best tuners around.

this is of course with a shiney new R154 or 6speed as your w58 will wet itself at those levels :)

that was a worry i had about the 5 speed manual for the TT but Kerion at extreme performance said it would be stron enough. for what i wanted to do, itll be 400hp max for what i want so probably BPU >>>eventually

the cost to get a TT lump could put you at BPU already

YEah aware of all tat,

only realy intrested in seeing 400max and i want the reliablitly garanteed from the stock tt at bpu level.

thanks for mentioning gearboxes as i know know the 5 speed is known as the w58

so im realy enjoying everyones opinions and experiances but i dont spose anybody has the parts that i need do they?
