As the fueling is a bit special for 1000bhp on E85 (without going 2000+cc and having poor idle and low rev cruising), I agreed with Lee on the following.

Add a 3rd Walbro 485 pump

Go for the new PHR triple Walbro hanger

http://www.powerhouseracing.com/p-4688-phr-triple-walbro-485-fuel-pump-hanger-e85.aspx

ASNU 1500cc injectors

4 bar base pressure (identical to my current 1100cc on E50).

Regarding the GReddy intake (I have a genuine unit), Lee would like to see how far we can push it. We won't swap it for a Hypertune, but map the new setup on it. We may need some more boost as the runners are more restrictive than the Hypertune one's.

Nice luc when does yours go in a be mapped? I might try get mine done for the same time and maybe get mapped together? I will keep an eye on yours and will go with the same fuel set up I think. I only have 2 new 485 at the moment.

Nice one Luc - With your raised limiter you'll actually get some good use out of it ;)

Cheers

Don't forget the majestic diff cover at these levels didn't JP damage his first diff at 1000hp without one

Upgraded diff covers are needed if you do hard drag launches ; especially on drag wheels. That's not what I will be doing. Rolling races only.

What does the cover help to prevent?

See above.

As well as the majestic diff cover isn't there some other parts also required to strength up the Diff to hopefully future prof it from any damage at these power levels?

I run a TRD diff Andrew ; together with a big case eurospec diff cover (with cooling vents). The diff is a dynosaur. I will upgrade the driveshaft to be on the safe side. Then, the complete drivetrain from clutch to diff will be fine for 1000+ bhp :)

After discussions with Lee, Ryan and some guys on our forum and in the states (they have a lot of experience on high ethanol content mapping), the 2016 (1st part) list is the following :

6870 1.00 turbo

5" ETS intercooler

ID 1700 injectors

PHR driveshaft

Upgraded diff cover (Majestic, PHR or Works)

I went away from the triple pump setup. 3 pumps would have been used to keep high base fuel pressure in combination with small 1500cc injectors. The pumps flow much less efficient at higher pressures ; at 3 bar base pressure, the 485 pump work at their best under full boost (around 4.5-5 bar).

Why not asnu 1600-1700 luc? I have the phr prop as well :) I will upgrade diff cover too :)

After several chats with guys in the states (who tune a lot of E85 setups), especially with Sean of Titan, I will go for the safe route regarding fueling. Here the setup I will go for:

6870 1.00 AR turbo

5" ETS intercooler

Add a 3rd Walbro 485 pump

Go for the new PHR triple Walbro hanger

http://www.powerhouseracing.com/p-46...anger-e85.aspx

ID1700cc injectors

Driveshaft shop chromoly 3.5" driveshaft

This way, the pumps will be good for 1500bhp (2 x 485's might get to their limits on E85). Injectors will be ok for a proper idle and low rev cruising.

I got confirmation that an upgraded diff cover is only needed when doing 1/4 mile drag launches.

  • 2 weeks later...

I got a mail from Jacks : the box is about to be reassembled. It will be shipped back next week.

ID1700cc injectors and ETS 5" FMIC are on their way from Titan too.

The SRD driveshaft is being custom made too right now.

As soon as everything will be here, I will head to SRD. I can't wait to get that 6870 on the dyno.
