Lude
my PAS is leaking from the unit itself. i am going to replace or refirb. why has it started leaking though? 1) the feed hose from the resivour to the pump had split a few weeks ago, so i imagine this may have casued it (air getting into pump) 2) if the wrong fluid or too much has been put in at some point would that have caused it? 3) i did remove the air con, and didnt make a new support bracket, is still all solid, no movement in the unit (have discovered that you need a bracket though so am making one now) or do the gaskets just give up after old age? ellis
It's the same thing that causes at least 5ml of pi55 to remain in your todger and then run down your leg just as you zip up even though you spent at least 60 seconds extracting every last drop from your bladder - age. bodilx6
Are you sure its the unit itself? The o-ring on the return stud is usually the culprit. It can easily trickle down from there. If there is any chance of that being it, change it and see. It is a cheap fix. But make sure to get the right ring from toyota.

bodilx6
Yep, thats the one I mean. When mine leaked, I couldn't see anything wrong with the seal either. Couldn't even tell the difference between the new I bought and the old one. But it stopped it from leaking. And before that I tried various o-rings, but only the Toyota one fixed the leak. Chris Wilson
You can buy just the gasket, it's an impregnated cupro alloy one. I would fit a new O ring and shaft seal whilst it's apart.
