Checking turbo oil seals.

Hi guys

Is there any way of doing this without stripping the turbo down.

Whilst the car is off the road I want to check everything and replace a few things. Im getting a slight pull of blue smoke on lift off (come off throttle) and just would like to explore every avenue. It's not a great deal but I know it's there.

Cheers

John

It would need stripping to check it John.

Thought as much Chris.

If you have the turbo off look for any signs of wetness in the turbine area. I had a leaky stock turbo on a 1JZ once and the exhaust housing was damp with oil.

I'll check once I pull the turbo off.
