Soopra
Just been through a fairly rough couple of months. Back in July I left the company I was working for to go back into heavy plant hire - something I know and love. Just 2 months into the trial period I'm told that the company couldn't afford the position and they let me go Scary moment. Took three weeks for me to find another job (which is amazing and something I really didn't expect to enjoy) but the salary is a considerable drop. So much of a drop that I thought the Supra would have to go. Thanks to my wonderful son who has taken a part time job on top of his full time college course I am able to keep my Supra and some kind of normality. It's been a scary time and I avoided coming on here because I didn't want to be reminded that I was so close to losing my Supra.
barneybrendan
I think a lot of people find themselves im the same situation.im going self employed and the thought of chasing work this time of year is a bit off putting at times. Good to see you managed to keep it so far.
DodgyRog
Glad to hear you are managing to keep your Supra, as Barney said I think there's a fair few that are in similar positions I have not had full time employment for some time and am relying on Agency work, which upto date has kept me going, plus the wife working 7 days a week in her job I have considered selling up a few times, but she won't let me, really need to get enough money together to buy a cheap Pug Diesel to save money on the commute though

Guest Budz86
I work at the jobcentre and the number of times I see this happen is crap. Sometimes people are lucky and get back on their feet fairly quickly - other times it takes months/years. Well done for finding something so soon - it may be less money than you were on before but a damn sight better than what you'd get from us! Havard
Not working is soul destroying and serious makes you question your own self worth. I am quite a proud kind of guy but I recently spent 8 months out of work. 6 months of this was mainly due to a football injury but the two months of seriously looking for a job and getting no takers was worrying to say the least. I have now been with my new company for 18 months and things are better. Although as a director I am now self employed and the worries of the job take their toll. That said, I never want to go back to feeling like I did two years ago. The fortnigthly trip to the dole office as reminder that I was on my arse..!! Gald you are going to keep the car. H. Abz
Well done, it is something scary to face! I lost my beautiful old Supra due to bad times, I thought I'd never get back on my feet as I was left in debt due to a tenant. Things changed massively, I am back in a Supra but it feels like I am going back down that slope. You just got to hold on tight & do your best, things work out in the end. Not always the way you liked but they do.
