Bobbeh
ROFL why do you get this Drag racing impression from? Its a GT car that CAN handle in the right persons hands. Its only in the US where they have tapped the cars 1/4 mile potential to extremes. As Alex says, a lot of what clarkson says is purely for notoriety / publiciy, they used to hate anything Japanese back in the 90's, they've changed attitude somewhat since. Classic statement - 'Americans cant build good cars' - ok.

Jurgen-Jm-Imports
who gives a sxxx what jc thinks, supras are cool, he props never had one at the time they first came out and just realised what he missed so to justify his dissapointment he slags them off
Hucker
I peronsally don't like JC, but he does seem to be often right about many car related things. Just the other week, regarding the 350z, I think he was right. Its a lovely car to look at, but it is actually a little underpowered. The 300zx, for example, is a faster car! There are a lot of other cars you would get for 30k than the 350Z. And thats the bottom line. At least JC likes the S2000 which I think is a wicked car! Whitelightning
JC knows about as much about cars as i do about knitting !! (Pass me the wool dear ) Hes funny but not always objective. At least I didnt rave a car, slag off the competition, suck up to Ford, pay loads for it and then send it back in a tantrum coz the alarm didnt work ! supRo
You don't want the most powerful you want the most sorted street weapon, brakes, suspension, power and subtle clean styling/paint. The example I would choose would be Terry's, not sure how far behind Chris's or Ian's would be though....Ian would probably say his was best cause J-Tuner's photographer chose it to be closest in the rolling shot for the magazine. I've been in a few single turbo supes and would definitely vote for Terrys - Performance and handling
Chiefgroover
Clarkson is biased. I remember him having a white Mkiv parked head to head with a Ferrari, this was 6 or more years ago. He just rubbished the Supra in favour of unreliable Italian junk. I honestly think if Clarkson was to review the Supra now it would be lets make this thing look daft and owners weirdo's, which would be easy due to the ricer brigade, with their crazy kits, poor paint, neon, tastless mods and spinner wheels, yeah I know Chris already mentioned that. He is just a wanker that cant drive.
salvatore
Did'nt JC get banned by Toyota from reviewing thier cars for some infantile slagging off of one of thier models a while back?
Guest top gear towers
Hola, I work on the editorial team for TG TV, and in our defence - I love the Supra, and I'm not the only one. 320+bhp as standard, front engined RWD, leather, air con and supercar looks is nothing to point and laugh about. The stigma in the mainstream about jap cars is fading, and I'm working towards getting a Supra on the show. I used to have an MR2 turbo, and had a few of them on in the past (including a mk1 Vs mkIII shoot out). Oh, and I'm new to the forum, so be nice to me Rowly Current car: '94 RX7 next car: Supra! gregsupra4
OK ALL, Look Top Gear has and always will be a platform for the ego bloated presenters it use's to try and make us think that they know everything. They never take the time to think that maybe there is life after themsleves and that other people might like the cars they slag off, but hey other than the odd time they ask someone in the audiance ( who they then try to make look an idiot) that's as far as it goes. If we all accept that the show is for entertainment and to laugh at them being clowns who cares what they say as I for one have a mind of my own and would never take the word of T#####S who do not have good taste ( well they do but it's all BAD)
The Hornet
I agree with what most others have said. It would be nice to have a standard Supra on the show and one which has been modified for the Track / street performance. We all know the Supra will and can beat alot of modern supercars on the track, that plus the fact that you can have a lethal Supra for far far less money than all the modern ones. The Supra's reliability also should not be a concern, they are built extremely well and most problems can be fixed cheaply / easily if they do ever go wrong. Welcome to the Supra world btw Mr Towers. 2p worth.
tbourner
I don't care as long as they don't give in to the whingebags who keep saying there should be cheap economical cars on the show. It's car PORN and that's the end of it, I wouldn't except someone to pick up a top shelf mag and say "Oh why don't these people have more clothes on!" If you don't like it don't watch it!!! We want the fastest loudest most expensive cars on there haring round the track, I don't care who presents it and what they say as long as there's an hour of that I'll watch it! Chiefgroover
TOP GEAR TOWERS, I'd like to take Richard Hammond around the ring in my Supra. Its refined, much more than any other I have ever know, will have 600 to 700 rwhp from the end of the month, top class stereo etc, and still looks like an "unmolested" car. Hammond actually likes the Supra, unlike Jeremy "cant drive a nail into a turnip" Clarkson. Actually I made good money for charity out of JC. A guy betted me £1K he could beat me around the ring, we both gathered up sponsorship and rasied (final figure I am waiting on) approx £3.5K for "Friends of Montgomery house" a non admin heavy cancer charity. The JC connection was we both had to shave 1/2 a minute of his lap in the Jag (funny how nobody believes his time hhmmmm) and that was easy :-) even on our first visit. The Supra IS a ring car, and a bloody good one too!. Come on Richard, were going for a spin!. Maybe we could arrange a group of nice Supra's from the club? Think http://www.T04R.com would be very interesting for you guys to brouse.

Gazboy
I've got a bog standard J-spec, except the wheels, that is- if you need one. No sliding/killing my tyres though.
