Doesn't the generally-accepted operator precedence define a single correct way though? I suppose then it's an issue of whether one follows the generally-accepted way. The way it's written with a space at the end for the zero kind of implies that the whole thing is multiplied by 0 at the end (like (5+5+5-5+5+5-5)0 ) but if you write it all with the same spaces it's 5+5+5-5+5+5-5+5x0 which is the same as karolina's post (although there are added brackets they don't make a difference to the outcome here) given that you have to do multiplication before addition and subtraction (bodmas). I don't know what the answer actually is, because it would depend on the order you carry out the subtractions. 5+5+5-5+5+5-5+5x0 BODMAS says you should do the multiplication first 5+5+5-5+5+5-5+0 Then you should do the addition 15-15-5 but there is no convention to the order of subtractions. so the answer could be either 0-5 = -5 or 15-10 = 5 Interesting - and I hate you for proving my inadequacies.
