kickboxing injury. Now this a bruise

It's up to you how you read my comments:d

 

 

 

Depending on skills you should actually lean into the kick to shorten the distance and power of the kick and take the blow and grab his leg and then put him off balance and return maybe a elbow.

 

Or you could just get out of the way.

 

Normally I would agree........... ;) depending on style taught as well, but generally kickboxing is a longer range style, so stepping in on someone attacking is much harder

No. I did it for about 4 years. Then took a 10 year leave from it so im out of shape slow and fatter than before.

 

Footwear is shin and foot guards.

 

Oh I see, Im sure you get back into it in no time. Confidence and positive thinking :)

I guess, in my opinion kick boxing is like karate. But without the forms and stances, a lot of kicks and if I remembered right no low kicks? Or is that just karate.

 

Stepping in while attacking is harder but well worth teaching yourself. Built your confidence up is the key, to able to hit you got to learn to take a hit. That's just my opinion.
