Las Vegas Law - Machine gun in an indoor range?

Watching an episode of CSI and I just couldn't help the primal urge to water at the mouth when they mentioned this.

According to the episode anyone with valid ID can shoot an automatic machine gun as long as it's at an indoor range. Is that accurate? Looks like awesome fun :D

I'm not much of a gun guy but there's just something about a fully automatic gun that gets me thinking about red head bands while grinning from ear to ear.

I've been there and done that :) It's only submachineguns though, i.e. 9mm and .45acp. Proper machineguns are a bit heavy calibre for an indoor range!

I shot a 9mm MP5, it was very nice to shoot. If you get a chance, try out a Sig Sauer P220 in .45acp as well, one of the best handguns I've ever shot :D

I know they do it in or around orlando as a friend of the family always takes his family over to florida and while the wife and his daughter go off doing girly things him and his son go to the local range and shoot just about anything they want. Its his annual treat. I do think they have to go out to outdoor ranges for the bigger stuff as the 25m ranges are in the town, not good for larger calibres I should imagine unless your underground.

A friend of mine had a full bore indoor range at his home in Cheshire until some years back. He was a licensed firearms dealer, and we shot up to .5 calibre machine guns, and full auto machine pistols, with gay abandon :) He's a baron, as well, so his credit card always got us a decent table if we went out for a meal and booze up :) A very interesting chap, who built a two seater Formula 5000 long before the F1 lot thought of it. He and his girlfriend still race regularly in historic F5000 and he has some nice road cars, too. I think he still collects Mauser guns.
