SteveC
As per title, I'm after a good (no holes, little to no rust) fuel tank protector (the tin cover that's underneath and around the fuel tank - see attached photo). It doesn't matter from which model as they're all the same. Sorted now

Is yours in good nick - if you can remember? The one on mine is a bit ropey (to say the least) but could be tidied up with a bit of time spent on it. (Obviously I'm not after another iffy one that I have to work on!!)

little num
I have 1 already off and isnt in bad condition, have some surface rust but not rot, could do with being sand blasted and powder coated to make look brand new. I recomend blasting and coating on any second hand unit bought, if you decide to go for mine there is a powder coater local and good i could get a price for you and get it done ready for collection. When I got mine off it didn't look really bad condition - that was until I started scraping around with scraper! My intention is to get the underneath/box sections coated with Dinotrol quite soon, so really a great finish isn't an absolute necessity - although beneficial if not too expensive. Obviously all that would come down to price. There comes a point when it would be more viable to get a new one, I suppose. When you get chance, give it another checking over and get back to me with a price - and possibly with the additional sand blasting/powder coating price (it you've got the time). ...and thanks for the reply. SteveC
Keron came back to me via PM a little while ago after checking what he has available. He pretty much confirmed what I initially thought, which was most, if not all, of these 9 - 17 year old under tank protectors will be well past their best by now. Consequently I have just ordered a new. Thanks very much for the replies though...

SteveC
Well they're not exactly what I'd call "not that expensive"! Retail price is £153.93 + VAT - less whatever discount you manage to negotiate with your local Toyota dealer. Luckily for me, my local dealer always gives me a decent discount and delivers stuff FOC. Edit: thinking about it, I should have tried Paul Whiffin. Sometimes he is cheaper than the local dealer, othertimes not...
