Guest The Scarecrow
Hi all, Trent From Tasmania Australia. I wasn't really sure where to put this, as i couldn't really see a place for a members ride thread. so ill just whack it here and if its in the wrong spot a mod can move it for me Any way if had my car for about 18 months now and i love it to bits, i joined the UK forum here as iv recently got the RLTC system and im doing research in the install process as im giving it a crack myself. so with out further delay ill present my car and a direct copy of my sf.com.AU members ride thread Enjoy. _____________________________________________________________ Updated 09/11/2011 New Exterior Aesthetics, lights and ducting section added to post 4 and added 2 new links to bottom of post 1 including my recollection of driving across Australia One EPIC! 8800km journey across Australia back get my Supral The Beginning: Hey all Well its finally happened, I got my very own JZA80 Supra!! As some of you might know I've been popping up around here for a few years now. I remember seeing my first Supra after High School one day. It was Silver and had this bad ass wing (which now I look and realise how ugly it was) and this graphic of a person pointing down the front of the car and I remember not knowing what the hell it was. Sometime later that year I ended up watching this movie every one was raving about, I had missed it at the cinemas and just waited to it came out at the video store, anyway in this movie was the bright orange car with the same graphic down the side, it then clicked that it was the same type of car; A Supra! (For those that are a little slow the movie was FnF:tongue: ) It was a year or so after that, that I managed to get a ride in a 1993 Rz and ....... Boom! From that day I knew that I would have one of these cars! So that really sparked my interest. After that I randomly stumbled across this site sf.com.AU and after trolling this forum (supraforums.com.au) for quite a while eventually joined the forums in 08/2006. Continuously coming back and logging onto the forums, always looking to see what was going on and trying to learn something new in preparation for when I get my own car. I also remember watching "Jimbo, Bril, JP, Jazz & Assnal" Dook it out on a regular basis some of the funniest sh!t i have ever seen went down there! Then in April 2007 I found this cool 1983 Ma61 Supra for sale and ended up getting it. For her age it didn't seem to be to bad of condition so i brought it. Since that time she has help me develop my passion for Driving, been my Daily, and a Fantastic first car (Part from the M series BHG Issue) but that's another story. At the end of the day tho I still dreamed of my every own RZ, then it came I point in 2009 that I had the financial resources to achieve my dream. I took Well over a year to find the right car searching, test driving what I could, but with every little going around in Tassie made seeing possible candidates very hard. In April 2010 ***this*** thread popped up advertising what I believed to be my perfect car. So After 5 years of research, saving and dreaming I knew exactly what I wanted. "I even said so in my very first SF.com.AU post back in 2006" I demanded myself to get "A Genuine Series 2 RZ with VVT-i, CF wheel and Recaro's" so I DID!! With out further rambling and delay I give you: "The Scarecrow's 1997 Genuine Series 2 RZ Supra" After all these years of wanting and dreaming, it feels so surreal to be living the dream; to own and drive a late model Series 2 RZ Supra brings a massive smile to my face and i feel sorry to all those who can't sit there there with me and quietly agree F#ck yeah. Guest The Scarecrow
Suspension, Drive line, Rims, Tyres and Brakes Detail. As she stands most of the Modifications have been done here, HKS Hypermax III Coil-overs R2 Racing Control Arm Bushing Kit Front and rear, I can not praise these strong enuff, The difference they make is huge when i was looking to buy my car i went to look at a few cars going around at the time and even the cars with modded coil-overs don't even come close to comparing how tight my car feels with these. This would have to be the most important mod you could do to your car to give it a new feeling. C's Short Shifter,

(thats a Mix of highway, city and "playing" driving) on a long highway cruz she went form 12.08L Per 100km to a very nice 9.58L per 100Km!!! which is great as i can now get from end of the state to the other and back on the same tank of fuel! Genuine Toyota/Denso 02 sensor. Old 02 Sensor, After 120,000km then come out looking like this, not to mention this one has a bit of a rattle New 02 Sensor in place. Guest The Scarecrow
Did half my LED dash conversion today, Just the Ezy staff for now, Changed the Green Gauge cluster to white and put in my TRD Speedo and tacho. I also opted to have the new odometer synced to match the original factory item, I gave the local Toyota dealership a call and they referred me onto a auto electrician that they sub-contract work to on a regular basis. Over all i was very happy with his service and Pricing, took him all of 3 hours to get the unit back to me and for a total cost of $35.00!! Will have the AC unit done by the end of the month if all goes to plan and time permitting. Before: Out with old and in with the New! At Night! Guest The Scarecrow
Installed the Carbonfiber Nuber plate backing today and for something so simple and cheap makes a huge difference to the rear of the car. The CF plate Cost $45.00 shipped to my door from Three Lad Performance (VVTI) Now for Pics! Thanks Heaps to VVTI for this, so much better then the terrible looking hole that most of us are left with with the Aus style number plates. And this one because i like it! Terminator
Hi Trent, good to see some one so committed to their car. Also some sensible mods to start off, good of clutch choice with the Giken clutch, had the twin in a Skyline, lovely clutch. You have a good looking car, which you obviously love to bits.
