Graham1984
I saw a thread that states petrol will be rising soon so I was wondering what petrol everyone runs there supra's on. I run mine on tesco momentum as it is 99octane and having a jspec all jap cars are used to being run on high octane as if I remember right (prob not) there lowest octane fuel is 100ron. Anyway it cost £140.9 a litre at chichester west sussex but what about you guy's and girl's as I see there are a lot of people who do not pay nearly as much. Wez
I have a nice 95ron map so I can chuck any old crap in it
Graham1984
You must be laughing each time you fill up. I would only have to look at standard unleaded to make mine run like a dog. It's not the best though when you have just under quarter of a tank and stick £40 in and it goes just over half.
Wez
Still over 500hp and 1.5bar boost, timing pulled back though
Graham1984
Fancy a swap for a NA??????? I would be doing you a favour in my books. Anyway is that a common way to fix the fuel issue by getting a 95ron map plus more importantly am I actually right by using premium fuel for a jspec? Wez
95 is OK in an NA, I use to run mine on it without any probs
Josh
I only use Shell V-power. For a few extra pounds per tank, it's worth getting over lower RON fuels, especially as it costs £100 to fill up anyway! AFAIK J-specs are mapped for 99 RON and UK specs are mapped for 95. Dnk
My last 2 fill ups have been great with 15p off a litre via Tesco's and 95 ron
stevie_b
I always run my NA on the bog-standard unleaded (95 RON?).
add heywood
Another Tesco 99 man here, many threads on the forum (one quite recently) about tests with Tesco 99 and V Power... I only use Tesco as it is on my doorstep, and is pretty cheap (£1.38) at the moment. Car was mapped on V-Power but I dont see knock on full chat with 99. I even sometimes use 95 ron but make sure it doesnt come on boost at all if I'm being a scrooge...
Graham1984
I think about being a scrooge at times but then remember how laggy it feels when I do so just stick it out with premium. On the plus side though it is only a bit more and makes the car run a lot better. Loads of people think the v-power is the best but it is only 97ron like most other premium fuels. I forgot about the tesco's vouchers as I have a few kicking about and ought to use them.
Thorin
An NA is fine on 95, it'll be fine in a TT too, but I wouldn't want to run a BPU TT on it.
Jamesy
Only ever used V-Power.....
Guest Supra_boy
V-power all the way. Asda is the worst in my opinion.. and to be honest I would hardly ever use 95 in mine! I'd rather pay a bit more for the cleaner stuff as my car runs like a dream on it!
The Raven
My uk spec used to run happy as a nut on normal, but show it some super and it flew. My n/a only ever has cheap fuel. Id power it with turd if i could. That said i will have to use vpower when my TT lump is installed
caseys
Surely best people to ask about this are mappers? Who'd really be able to tell you when a fuel is not great for the car re timing/det?
Guest Supra_boy
Tbh it all boils down to how much you would want to spend on petrol. Obvioulsy the higher grade will perform better but if you cant afford it then run it standard 95. Its not going to kill the car and the car will be mapped to its full potential on whatever choice of petrol you use.

Graham1984
I only just saw this reply I think you might be right that shell is 99 ron and not
ray007
V power is the one... Only guilty of using 95ron when desperately need a few litres to get to a shell filling station
