SupraAyf
One for the bikers amongst us. If you're not a lover of 2-wheels and an engine then this could be a tad boring for you - sorry! I came across it as I was wanting to hear what an RSV1000 sounded like. I have just had a right minter of an RSV delivered today and I can't wait to get back in a few weeks to crank it up. Sounds lovely. I'm just wondering if Carlsberg built this road.

In italy with twins sounding good as ever don't get much better than that. i don't no if you travel to europe on your bike? but you should check out stelvio pass done it 5 times then continued on down to lake garda and lake coma in italy its a nice little trip but to be honest the best roads i have done where in spain very smooth and no traffic what so ever and bends where your cranked over at 150mph+ then 1 mile staights where all you could see was haze and not the end of the road that was one hell of a trip, still brings a smile to my face at how fast we where able to travel and for such long periods of time i can't wait for the next one:D
jon5698
What year Rsv have you gone for Andrew? i have a yellow 2003 rsvr and took it over to france to the Vosges mountains last year. I have the Aprilia racing titanium shot guns and hooked air box on mine and it sounds savage

I know Italy from my climbing days but I have never done Switzerland or Italy on two wheels. I think you've ignited a fire in me where this will be one of the things I need to do before I'm too old. It sounds like a plan buddy. What year Rsv have you gone for Andrew? i have a yellow 2003 rsvr and took it over to france to the Vosges mountains last year. I have the Aprilia racing titanium shot guns and hooked air box on mine and it sounds savage Hey Jon, hope you're keeping well mate. I didn't know you were a keen biker so perhaps we'll have to have a ride out when I'm back. The bike was delivered today. It's a real minter with 8k on the clock and a 51/02 plate (can't remember which). I haven't heard it running yet but it has a few mods including a single-Harris exhaust. It sounds nice from what the missus told me on Skype tonight. The Busa K9 is my only bike on FC insurance right now so I'll have to use that until I get my multi-policy in December when I can add the ZX12, Busa RZ and RSV. Boys and their toys eh. It will good to get together for a hack. The early RSV is on my bikes-to-own so I'm working through it gradually, lol.
jon5698
I am good thanks mate, hope you are well also? i would deffo be up for a ride out when you get back, haven't really had much chance this year to ride it as much as i wanted to as i moved to blackburn with my girlfriend and didn't have anywhere to keep it, but i am back in sunderland now so hopefully i can get out more often. If you are after any work doing on it there is a guy called Griff who owns Aprilia Performance in Tamworth, he used to be Technical director for Aprilia UK and is a legend! he is the only person i trust to work on my bike, and gladly ride the 3hrs each way to see him. I went to Italy earlier in the year and fell in love with the place, i would love to ride round it, especially on the Aprilia.
jon5698
Here is my one Andrew, freshly washed today.
SupraAyf
That's a nice looking machine and in the rarest colour too. The bike is in real top condition but thanks for the name of the Aprillia Tech if I should need him. I did some research on the RSV (pre 2003 facelift model) and they said it was a very reliable model so I'm chuffed with that answer. I'll drop you a note when I get back and we'll get together for a coffee at least.
jon5698
Yes they are very reliable for Italian bikes lol, if you join http://www.rsvzone.com there are a couple of little tricks you can do to them to make them even more reliable. When i went over to france i done 2000 miles in 4 days and it never missed a beat, apart from a brand new rear tyre bought that day blowing out at over 100! I love the yellow colour especially in the sunlight it just sparkles. I have changed the gearing on mine as well for better acceleration, yeah let me know when you tare back mate, it would be good to catch up. SupraAyf
Hi Jon, The missus just sent a pic over so I can reciprocate with a portrait of 'April'. I have already given her a name so I can't wait to get back in December for a ride out (as if the weather in the North East is going to allow that, eh?). The exhaust can and pipe are the same colour as the wheels. We'll probably end up having a coffee in some dodgy roadside café, lol. fullthrottle
Mate, it sounds to me as if you've had a great time indeed. Hi mate your never to old i am 41 now have been riding bikes since i was 8 years old and i still feel like i am 18 in my head (it must be true because my misses keeps saying that i'm a child) LOL and one of my best riding buddies is 65 he's an old school racer still goes on all the track days with us in the uk and europe believe me he pisses off quite a few of the younger lads when he takes his skid lid off. I see that you own two Busa's how do you rate the new model compared to the original as i am thinking of buying another busa but not sure which model, i owned one a few years back and had it setup buy symtek racing and it went like a dream but now i fancy another and i really fancy one of the stealth models you no the one all in black with gold forks i don't no if i will go through with it but i am also thinking about sticking a supercharger on it also nothing too mental only about 250-300bhp enough to make your heart beat overtime. I rode a turbo busa a few years back and it was mental it was pushing out 450bhp but you just couldn't keep the front down which normally isn't a problem for me as love doing wheelies but it was almost unrideable on the road but it was fun:d

I have the 98 RX in bronze & silver and a K9 in two-tone silver and although you can tell visually that the new Busa is derived from the old; you wouldn't actually think of it to ride them as they are worlds apart. If you compare the old Ford Orion with a 2012 edition Ford Mondeo then that's the kind of difference in terms of refinement that you're getting. In all honesty but the old Busa is probably more exiting as the breaking system and the handling are much less capable than its modern counterpart. Either way, you can't lose out by selecting the early or late models but I would go for an RK8+ since you can pick up a 57-plate for as little as 5795 these days, before cheeky offers are submitted. Now that isn't bad.

Yep i no what you mean mate about differences when i bought a new gixer 1000 k5 i was also riding a tl 1000r that was on ohlins suspension and as you can imagine when i jumped back on it after a few weeks of riding the gixer, the tl felt like riding a brick on wheels i should have been use to the change as i was also riding a 2000 r1 on the track but i guess it just showed how good the new k5 was straight out of the showroom
jon5698
That looks lovely Andrew not long now then until you can try her out! if the weather stays like it has done then you should be able to get out a bit on her.
