imi
Shocking at how many people are ripping the system off.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b016lty2/Panorama_Britain_on_the_Fiddle/ cost of 22B to the country every year....significant proportion of that being Benefit Fraud up 30% since 2008. A classic example of such parasites http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-15594594 Why are we so blazay as a society?

Swampy442
Question should be why are we so generous. If theres money there and the Government are handing it out people are going to take it. The one I cant get is that migrant workers can claim child benefit for kids they 'may' have in their home country. Thats just lunacy. SupraAyf
Just the tip of a very large iceberg, I'm afraid. It will only get worse as the austerity package begins to eat faster in to people's pockets.
Abz
what have I missed? and yes, the weekend does start today - lets make the most of it. I think Josh was referring to my thread, I was hoping it would not get locked as it is a huge issue for us. A little healthy debate would have been good & people's opinions. The migrant population is also entitled to four-times the weekly going rate for unemployment benefit over a UK resident. There's that lunacy-thing creeping in again. Swampy442
In these times of austerity thats the first thing the government should be cutting back on. The welfare budget is a quite staggering £192 billion a year

I am all for supporting the welfare state, certainly need to weed out the parasites - the society need to take responsibility of the situation too rather than just leave it to the authorities to act. If you know of anyone that is cheating the system (some of these buffoons seem to be quite proud of their actions) we need to be reporting them. Corporate tax fraud far exceeds benefit fraud by multiples !! The highest payment in welfare is pension contributions and interest of 43 billion on borrowed money . Taxpayer owned banks specialise in off shore banking to assist large corporation tax fiddles to in effect reduce tax - all funded by the tax payer - explain

"war is the terrorism of the rich and powerful and terrorism is the way of the poor and powerless" - G Galloway" My bad. What gets my goat is people moved into brand new private apartments paid by the council. My friend who broke up with his wife was moved I to a brand new flat because she was a single mother with a new born baby. I went to her flat as he wanted to do his responsibility as a father and put the furniture together. Brand new furniture, flat screen telly. You would be looking to pay min £1,500 a month to be staying there! Another family (old school friend) I know of moved into brand new house with 5 bedrooms! All paid for! WTF! I am on a really good salary but they are living in better conditions!
