UK spec stock alarms

Just for info, the UK spec alarm is not a factory fit option. It was hacked in to the loom when the cars arrived in the UK, hence why it is mostly not Toyota branded on the plipper.

Not quite sure what question you are asking, do you mean if the bonnet is open will the alarm have a problem with that? I believe the answer is yes in most cases as it had a sensor under the bonnet and so you go to set the alarm and if the bonnet is open it might go off.

I locked my car with the bonnet not closed properly before and the alarm went off. It has a Getronic alarm, so not sure if that makes a difference.

It's a Toyota branded alarm JB. Kevin wasn't bothered about having the siren refitted again to his car when I did the wire tuck. I'm just wondering if there would be an MIL light thrown up due to this.

The alarm fitted to UK spec cars when arriving here is actually made by Scorpion. I think the remotes did have a Toyota logo, but I'm not certain about that - I got rid of my UK alarm a few years ago.

The bonnet sensor does trigger the alarm, but it will NOT affect the MIL light on the dash. If the alarm was installed correctly, then no aspect of the alarm will affect the MIL light.
