Guigsy
My new single has the odd electrical problem... One of them being the dash lights don't work. Or more specifically the speedo cluster lights (numbers and needle) and the backlights to the ac and heater buttons. The LEDs above the buttons to indicate they are on work fine. As do the indicator and handbrake lights in the cluster. My 2 clusters both sides of the wheel don't work ether. But assume they are the normal dry joint issue. The dimmer also doesn't work. Is there a fuse for these? I wouldn't assume so. Could it be the dimmer that's buggered so no power to the backlights? It's annoying as I can't see my speedo or the heater controls in the dark! Anyone had similar probs? Edited November 3, 2011 by Guigsy (see edit history)
SupraShaun
I think the fuse for these is in the drivers footwell.

dadssupra
Same happened to me years ago and it was a fuse down by the drivers footwell.
Guigsy
Hum... Gonna go poke around for the fuse before I try the dimmer. I got a spare one but don't want to pull 2 dash boards appart in the dark ... Ok, its the "pannel" fuse. 10a, I had a spare one so popped it in... dash lights came on.... great. But the led that lights up the fag lighter is hanging loose so i prodded it out the way so it wouldnt dazzle me... a quiet click noise and they go out again... There is a whole bundle of wires down there in the din slots. so something is shorting out. And the fuse had popped again. I only had the one fuse so ill have to get some more and have a look arround at the weekend.
