My dad is selling his RV8

(free plug woop http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?255507)

A guy keeps wanting to come down from Bristol to see the car but cancels a lot, weird thing is that he hasnt even asked for my dads address yet, but wants dad to send more pictures to him because he has other people intrested in it (which i doubt).

He says hes from fine & classic in Bristol but I cant find such a company, he even gives out a fineandclassic.co.uk e-mail address (that fails, also no website).

Sound dodgy to you? It does to me, I'm thinking of telling my dad to fob the guy off, am hoping he hasnt given him the address yet.

well, the guy ended up wanting to BACS transfer £14k to dad and get the car picked up on a trailor. dad politly said no thankyou and havnt heard from him since.

No because £14K isn't enough, or no because you don't like the idea of a BACS transfer?

Presumably you would have waited for the funds to clear before allowing pick-up?

What am I missing here? :)

Edit: I see your dad was after £18k. Sorry.

The missus and I looked at buying a green one last month and the six cars we checked out were between £9,500 to £13,995 and the guy selling the 14k car was willing to do it for 12k. That RV8 register seems a very expensive place to shop.
