tkddav3
hey guys. been wanting to change jobs for a while now and liked the building/landscaping side of work but as i only do it when a contracting mate of mine is there i wanna get into it properly, rang up a few companies and theyve said i need to be cscs approved before i can go any further employment. so i rang up to arrange my card a health and safety test. its all booked in for 2 weeks time and ive ordered the book so i can get some practice and revise. anybody done a test? is it easy? should i really study hard for it or is it a breeze? ive asked my dad as he's done one but was abut 7 years ago and most likely have changed since then. any help appreciated
peter richards
needed it for my job when i was fabricating , got the gold one , but i think the normal blue ones are easy , just plain common sense
leet45single
Ye the test is simple mate, it's multiple choice and pretty much common sense, with the book you will have no worries if you have a brush up on little things like fire extinguishers uses/colours. About the only thing that those books gave me info that I didn't know is you can get weels disease from cows as well as rats lol. Good luck mate
Hammer
Mate it's sooooo easy it's laughable. If you have a College nearby go into the Construction area and politly explain yourself and ask if they have the practice test on computer and could you try it. If they have it and are a relaxed group of guys I'm sure they will be happy to help. Good luck fella.
st3ven1
As previously mentioned, it's just common sense. Some of the question are almost insulting, they are that easy. I'd brush up on the different coloured fire extinguishers, and cancel the order for the book. And remember: when you come across an unusual liquid, your first port of call is to drink it! Ricky49
I have the CSCS and the ECS which is the electrical eqivilent of the CSCS. The CSCS is easy enough but I deal with what most the questions ask daily so it's always in I'm head.

Havard
I did mine about 3 years ago and it was stupidly easy. Apparently our MD failed the exam though. Some of the questions were really daft. H.
Dim Sum
Like most of the guys have already said its easy and common sense plus its multiple choice
kjgreen3
Taken it twice since becoming an electrician (had to renew after 3 years), first time IIRC lasted 30 mins (out of 45) as I triple checked every answer. Second time 3 years later took me less than 15 mins. Both sittings passed first time. Only thing that can catch you out is one of two daft questions (where its so badly worded it could be one of two answers) or the colour coded fire extinguishers as mentioned.
