creative
I hope no one is due to fly with them anytime soon! http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8367129/qantas-will-lock-out-employees
Swampy442
Thats one way to do it! Imagine if BA had done that? Wonder how that will play out.
China Man
"The Labor government of course bears a lot of responsibility for what's happened," he told Sky News. "They have made it easier for the unions to take strike action. The unions have got a whole series of totally unreasonable demands against Qantas." Hum, just like UK....Quantas have balls, BA have tits I total understand the CEO at Quantas, in the long run they will lost more money than a total lock down. If the goverment wanted Quantas services so much then they should not let the Union hold them to ransom......I hope UK will learn from this. sdistc
WOW. Just... wow. I've been watching the NBA lockout negotiations in the US, and this is disturbingly familiar.
imi
The UK govt is toothless and the society and people are a bunch of do-gooders with no teeth bringing this once great country to its knees.

sdistc
The UK govt is toothless and the society and people are a bunch of do-gooders with no teeth bringing this once great country to its knees. I'm not sure this is quite the same situation as BA - it appears that Qantas management are trying to sneakily ship everything offshore to maximise profits, in violation of the privatisation law that was passed in 1992. My problem with the whole situation is simply that big businesses at present seem to be doing everything in their power to maximise profits at the expense of long-term viability. Whatever happened to profit being the result of doing a good job?
