Dnk
Things are not all lost. This is what I've done. I paid via PayPal on 3rd of November. I've rang PayPal to see if they can help even though it was over the 45 day period they stipulate on there site. I was told they couldn't do anything but if I phoned my bank I could make an indemnity claim and they can get the funds back for me. PayPal have emailed me an authorization email so the bank are allowed to claim this money back. I've then phoned lloyds TSB, explained the situation and they have open the indemnity claim for me and said hopefully I'll have my money back in the next 3 days all being well. I'll update you guys as and when. Fingers crossed for you and think others should do the same
hodge
I understand. But at least there is a glimmer of light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. I wish you good luck. Thanks CJ.

The phone number is the main contact for the garage. My brother called this number yesterday but kenny apparently wasn't there but they seem to know about this but say its his problem not theirs which is fair enough. I think they have had a few calls so they probably getting used to it now. If I get any updates I will let you all know
hodge
OK guys. I've have an update on my situation which might help you all out. If you red my previous post explaining about calling PayPal and the bank, the bank opened an indemnity claim for me. Which means because PayPal was a direct debit they could claim it back.... This was on Saturday and tonight I've just checked my account and my money has been refunded already. Lloyds TSB are total legends. I would advise that everyone who paid via PayPal do the same or even try and recall the money they sent via a bank transfer. My bank couldnt help enough. Sooooo, Ken can keep his cylinder head and brace bar thanks very much.

adam1983
Hodge just out of interest mate what is the time limit on doing what you did? Dont think I will be able to sort that out with the bank until I get back in March so that will be 4 months after the transaction took place. I didnt do it through paypal either but bank transfer. Would it be the same sort of process with the bank? Cheers

I'm sure if you contact your bank they can help you out 1 way or the other.
adam1983
I will have to try an email as I dont fancy being put on hold and paying god knows how much per minute. Good to hear you got this sorted though mate and hopefully a lot of others will too. It would still be nice to hear something from him to see how he would explain himself for all this inconvenience he has put club members through. Be interesting to know what the real truth behind this all is too as im thinking its looking more and more likely that a lot of his excuses may have been made up. I will say no more on that matter though.

CJ
Its not in dispute that you have waited, im just saying that we have contact and something (even if a little slow) is happening. I'd rather wait 24-48-72hours knowing that something is being sorted, rather than wait another 8 weeks knowing very little. Moral of the story, lets chill and lets get a result I wonder of you are still feeling quite so magnanimous now?
SPG
I wonder of you are still feeling quite so magnanimous now? Seems the situation has changed a little would you not say? Contact from Ken is now non-existent, but i still think it would be best if he came on and dealt with his Customers and refunded them

scotty71
Always the same with these people that come on here and are just here to sell and 90% of their posts are in the classifieds, and get away with not being a trader. hodge
i meant from a contact point of view, he was still replying to TDr but even that seems to have gone cold. I would imagine TDr just doesn't want to get involved anymore as ken seemed to be filling full of shizzle about dealing with it all too. And on a side note about his eBay feedback, if my father had just passed away the last thing I would have called him was "The parts boy" Does any of the mods know how Ken managed to put all this up for sale with so very little posts. I think maybe there needs to be something in place as in maybe a post count or something before people can post in the for sale thread, just to stop low life thieves this this from robbing a very friendly and warming community such as this. Bloody hell mate, Had no idea it was this deep with that garage. Well I think its fair to say now that this is something this guy and his company by the sounds of specialise in (ripping people off). Anyone interested in going up there to sort this out I will be going up in March. Not having anyone ripping myself or other club members off. From the links you posted Jamie there seems to be a lot of people becoming ill at that garage when it comes to parts/cars being sold. Now im not saying that is definitely not what is happening but it seems a little odd to me that people go ill right when parts stop getting sent out. Or is that me just reading too much into it? If I do go up there and dont get parts or refund though then there may be a few more illnesses to report. I absolutely hate con artists which im afraid this looks like to me. Rant over........
