Supra Gaz
Covered more times than words can cover. The 5 speed box in your car (W58 box) can handle 400bhp-ish according to those than have gone through it all, this depends on condition, obviously. If you drive like a goon it will kill it quickly but dont do massive burn outs in first gear every day from cold and all should be well. The ratios of the box make for a really rapid car. Has your car got a LSD? Either way it should be fine. Get somewhere decent to do the conversion, AFR, SRD or Keron in extreme performance and you will be onto a winner. Good luck and use the search button!!!
Parry_10
as above with the gearbox its down to how much abuse you give it really, mines still going strong with 430lbsft torque going through it *touch wood*

Nic
Some have experienced W58 gearbox failures after a 2JZ-GTE transplant, others haven't. The 5spd R154 box from a MKIII Supra would be a stronger, cheaper conversion option. The NA diff should be fine, it's the same as used in the early auto TT and all facelift TT's. Cost wise, reliability wise and resale value wise the sensible option would be to sell the NA and buy a genuine TT.
