dude
Just been to Sainsbury's, parked up in the range rover leaving room for the guy next to my pass side to be able to open his door, my drivers side wheels are about 6" inside the outer white line, her indoors goes in and im on the phone to someone when this young lad (20's) reverses in next to me, now his wheels are prob on the white line, either way a 6 stone broom handle aint getting out his car without forcing his door into my Rangey, the funny part is he parked by looking back out of his drivers window so he knows how close he is. He proceeds to do his window up and gather his stuff ready to leave the car so before he gets a chance I tap his window and say 'here mate can you move the car so you dont dent my car' to which he answers 'whats your problem?' a bit of arguing goes on which finishes with me saying 'F***k it open your door on the car and see what happens' he wheelspins off across the car park and slings the door open and come marching over, all 10 stone of spotty aggresion, hey ho here we go so out I get and ask him what he thinks hes doing, he says I was in the white line (he now does not want to have a roll around as he obviously has some common sense) I ask if its OK for him to dent my car with his door and he says I should get a smaller car, a short lecture about respect and eating thru tubes etc ensues and matey boy goes off with his tail between his legs, if this is the way people think what hope do we have. sdistc
Sad to say that not everyone believes in mutual respect. Although I get the feeling that this country only designs it's carparks/roads/garages with small cars in mind.

tbourner
I still don't understand the mentality of most people in cars, even parking in an empty car park you always get someone park 6" from your car when you come out.

SilentAgro
This is a situation where you can get some friends to come with lots of tyres. and help you turn the car onto its side, On the tyres of course. You don't want to damage the car. Wait for them to come back and try to right it, and laugh at the fact he damaged it himself.

dude
Its just kids, chavvy, poorly brought up kids with no respect for anyone or anything. Youth of today etc Its not just kids dude, my main bugbear at the moment is people who 1) Put petrol in at a pump and then go shopping/toilet or anyhting except paying for petrol and leaving the pump !! (this is normally cause I can only use one pump as im LPG) 2) Same as above but the ignorant bastards havent even got fuel, they just use the pump to park on !!! Had the biggest row on the forecourt I use the other day, van parked on pump, man in hi vis getting coffee (keep calm john) he come out and gets in PASSENGER side !!! so I think the driver must be in the toilet, I wait prob 2 mins and lean on the horn, the idiot is only in the drivers seat drinking his coffee !!! he drives off the pump fast slams on the brakes, flings the door open and launches himself out the car, so im out and get to him before he knows whats happening, im now nose to nose with this roofer telling him exactly what i think of him that hes ignorant etc etc this now gets really going when he tells me im lucky we are on a forecourt or he would kill me, ends up with me using his windpipe to strengthen my grip with him halfway back in his cab, his mates now s*******g himself and im prob foaming at the mouth telling him to get up the road and wait in this little lane so we can sort this out !!!! Turns out the little fella behind the counter asked them to move off the pump as they didnt even get fuel and got threatened for his trouble and guess what the real brave duo didnt even go wait in the lane !!! The Raven
I hate people that park in kids spaces with no kids. One guy parks in a spot his wife gets out. My Mrs points out its a child space and asks if she has a kid..She says "Im picking one up" Mrs "I didnt know they sold them do you get double club card points" I laugh a bit but then out of his window mr big balls starts shouting "just FK OFF FK OFF FK OFF" Aimed at the Mrs. Mr big man is all brave in his car shouting at a women. I got out looked over to where he was sitting, doing up his window. Now im not about to fight someone in tescos car park so i go in the shop. When we leave the offending nob has moved his car and is now sitting half way down the car park. I make sure i wave at him as we leave If your low enough to park in a disabled bay then you probably wont care. However if your not please dont use the kid spots they make life so much easier getting the little ones in and out

hogmaw
If these are the worst things that are happening in people's lives then all is well. Really, this is all incredibly trivial, compared with the stuff 90% of people on this planet have to deal with, day in, day out, for their whole lives. Get a sense of perspective everyone, please. bigbloodyturbo
I've had people hit my car with their door while i'm filling the car on the forecourt. I shout at them asking them wtf they are playing at but I just get a retarded look and some fool saying they didn't hit it, even when you show them the mark on the door. I've had woman walk past the nose of the car at tescos and drag their handbag across my bonnet because they are short arses and can t be bothered to change the bag to their other arm or lift it over the bonnet. I had 17yo girls pull into a space next to my car 3months ago (again in tesco's) and proceed to scrape the nose as they pull in slowly, even with me thumping the back window of her car she didn't stop, and all i got from her when she got out was 'it wasn't me, i didn't touch your car' and when the police came they're was no damage to her car only mine so they did nothing and infact I almost got done because this car full of kids said i had threatened them and been very aggressive, it was only when my gf got out of the car and gave a statement that they let me go. I'm sick of ignorant tw@ts hitting my car, and I do park in the parent/kids parking bit in tesco's and all the above is exactly why, before I did i had a new mark on my car EVERY fortnight atleast when I had the 330d, sometime weekly. I dont do it when its busy but then I never shop when its busy but if there's 40 kids parking spaces and only 2 people using them damn right I'm going to park there. Abz
Manners have massively changed over the years, respect has changed, please now switch for no reason. Though John, I think you need to take a step back. Easier said than done, I agree. I used to be a bit more like that but nowadays I don't let the petty things get to me, life is soooo much more than that to get wound up by some low life which has as much aspirations as a plastic gangster. I think because of your build some may already be defensive when you approach them (watch body language next time), I'd try a softer tone & don't use hands whilst talking & no pointing. If they did aggressive, don't go down with them. Remain calm & stand your ground they will either back down or get more aggressive. If they get too aggressive & you feel threatened then knock the sense out of them... And then let him lick it off the floor. I totally understand where you are coming from though
h89mps
I usually park in 2 spaces. People don't really take care when opening their car doors. Just one day I was running late and there was only one space I could find, so I just decided to park my car there. Left enough space for both cars next to me, thought to myself what's the chance of somebody opening their doors like an animal today. Got back home and realized there's a slight dent in rear drivers side door and a small scratch. Nobody even has decency to at least admit their mistake and apologize. Guigsy
I think it's you lot. I've never had this problem. Nobody has ever thumped my car with there door hard enough for me to notice. I park my cars including the supra and my legnum nearest the door to any shop I can. I don't use special bays or 2 spaces because I'm not a dick. And anyone who parks in 2 if it's a polo a BMW or a Lamborghini automatically makes me think the owner is an up themselves 'I'm better than you' prick tbh. We also do most of our shopping at 11pm which probably helps.

Im happy John did, maybe that 1 punk will think twice in the future Isn't that a self fulfilling cycle though? People have it done to them so they do it back? IMO people shouldn't park at pumps if they are not getting petrol and people shouldn't park in child bays without children. At the same time people shouldn't assault people nor park in two spots! It used to be that smoking/drink driving was fine and acceptable but a number of iniatives made these habits major no no's. IMO we need something like this for social responsibility. Look after the old, be polite, don't park at pumps if you don't get petrol.
