pedrosixfour
An unfortunate accident. Such bad luck to get jammed underneath the bike and for it then to veer back across the track in front of Edwards and Rossi. 999 times in a thousand the bike would have left the track on the outside of the curve and both bike and rider would've came to a stop in the run-off area. A great loss to a fantastic sport. Sad times for all involved.
tbourner
I think people will always try to make sense of a fluke accident, but that's what it was a fluke - imagine if Massa last year had been 1/10th second slower and the spring had been 1" lower when he hit it! Motorsport is dangerous we all know it, but it's much safer than ever before, it's literally the wrong instant in time and nothing can be done to prevent it apart from stopping racing completely. RIP.
cossack
Such a shame, he was a talented rider, there will be some $#@! as to why the helmet came off !! Already there are experts commenting on how Edwards could have avoided him !!! i dont refer to them as 'experts', i refer to them as C***S RIP SIDE SHOW

tony tt
Rossi and Edwards tweeted this morning that none of them are retiring marco would have wanted them to continue. That's what there doing. Edwards has dislocated shoulder and possibly two fractured wrists and a fractured ankle.

caseys
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motogp/15584165.stm A fitting tribute. Also good on the BBC for their coverage yesterday.
Swampy442
If you saw the GP yesterday you would have seen all the riders from all 3 classes do a lap of honour, led by Kevin Schwantz. Followed by 2 minutes noise. Very fitting tribute I thought.
Jamesy
Was a great prgramme yesterday - very nice tribute just as his Dad wanted - was a bit disappointed they didnt leave pole position empty for the race though as had been suggested...
