Swampy442
No mirrors on a GP bike dude, if you cant see another bike in a bend its your line, virtually impossible to significantly change direction when your as commited as that in a corner, its a split second decision, imo had Edwards gone behind he would have missed but thats in hindsight which is a wonderful thing. If you see it from one of the onboard cameras, Simoncelli loses the bike, then falls off the inside. His bike then grips and drives him into Edwards, who could do absolutley nothing If the bike had fallen instead of gripping he would have slid into the kitty litter. He tried to save it by holding it up by gettin his knee down that gave the bike grip on the tires again and brought it in line with the other two. The 3 of them had no chance but to collide they got him to the med centre with critical injuries at track side but shortly after he lost his life. They said it was massive head injuries from his helmet exploding.

caseys
was horrific watching it live this morning. As soon as saw the helmet rolling off the track with Edwards I think most knew it was pretty bad. You could tell the commentators discussed Edwards but not Simoncelli I think they knew it was dire. Nice at least that the BBC cancelled the re-run in respect of it all, having a 5 minute slot informing people (re-run was meant to be BBC2 1pm). Stephen G
It's still on YouTube. It's a racing accident, there was nothing anyone could have done any different. It's just very sad and with the year Rossi has had and now involved in the fatal crash of a friend you might see him retire from the sport. Thorin
Terrible news, I'm not a huge motoGP fan but even I know what a talented rider, and big character Simoncelli was. I saw the crash, and as soon as I saw the helmet off I just felt sick. Knew that wasn't going to be good. RIP Marco.
