Tyson
I removed him when I did it before and it went up by like £30. I may call them and check again, he never drives it anyway! I asked the guy at Admiral about fitting a tracker and he said it wouldn't make any difference. I still want to get one though, just in case. I think I've got mine at 5,000 miles a year. Insurance has never made sense and as long as it works in my favor I couldn't care less
dan294
Not that I condone it however it does explain why so many people drive uninsured. I agree! its ridiculous! I paid £650 this year with Admiral, with the Mrs on the policy, 32 years old, 12 years NCB, garaged and alarmed, in a reasonably good postcode area! Rob
My insurance was £500 for 2009-2010 and its been off the road till now. I'd had it insured with LV ever since 1999. When trying for new insurance, LV said they would not insure an imported Supra. I told them they had insured it since 1999, and two other of my cars on continual renewal, but they weren't interested in keeping my custom. 10 years loyalty, x 3, means nowt. They did say if I hadn't stopped it for a year, they would have continued to insure me, but not from "new." That was confusing, they'll insure an import because its already insured with them, but their new company policy is not to insure imports. Eventually got cover with Flux for £470, so an actual saving.

Septic
Why is my insurance so high?! I asked the guys on the 350z forums and they had no idea. Argh so annoying.

Attero
Adrian flux blasted my insurance up by a further £1500 and that was before the riots. I had to end up going with elephant which I didn't really want to do but oh well. At least I'm still driving a supra.
Rookey
Sky insurance, I love you!!! £90/month just saved me from a forced sale of the Supra :) Happy is an understatement!!!
Scott
The price you were paying to begin with is ridiculous to be honest. I've always been around the £400-£500 mark. Not looking forward to the insurance hunting once single though

Abz
Adrian Flux? I called them a couple of weeks ago (should have posted a thread about it) about insuring a Supra on the chassis number so then I can get the car registered. You need the car to be registered in order to get reg documents & tax disc. Anyway they didn't do temp cover & advised they would do a full year & then I just cancel it (charges involved). I waited for a quote, stated I'll be doing 0 miles & just need it for DVLA. They quoted me.... £3,700 I asked for a quote if it had number plates & it came to £900 odd. I asked him if he could see a flaw, he said he wasn't sure!

Skys underwriters wouldn't even quote me with a Liverpool postcode I pay a combined princely sum of just under £600 for a TT AND a NA Could be my age and impeccable record though...... tbourner
Also try changing your job: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance-job-picker/ I use 'Computer Engineer' rather than any other kind of Engineer now. God knows where it will end. Everyone will just drive uninsured? Wonder what they'd do if more than 50% of the population went without insurance. To change the insurance from my Type R to (£720 PA) the Supra cost me only £25 to change over until insurance finishes in April. Hopefully will be able to get it closer to the £500 mark next year if I put it on a classic car policy. I agree with Sky though, they are rubbish.
