Chris Wilson
Just doing an engine build for a customer who supplied his own bits. Out of six Eagle rods the little end bushes have a vast range of sizes, some need honing (too small) some need new bushes, or binning, (too big) One has a big end bearing bore undersize, one oversize. I have my doubts about whether the ARP fasteners are kosher, too. What a POS. Now everything's on hold and the balance was a waste of his money. I wouldn't put them in the tractor. Anyone else checked these rods out properly and found issues?
Guest supra_steve86
im in the process of buying my bits for my build and read loads of bad feedback about them being badly made etc. glad im going with BC's!!
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
there is a lot of copied strokers and piston kits kicking about that quality is shocking.
Chris Wilson
They weren't even very close on weight, straight out of the box, with no sign of material removal for balancing.
Swampy442
Has he contacted Eagle with the problem?

Chris Wilson
I don't know, I think he bought them from the US, I am afraid it's his problem, I did advise Carillo, Farndon or Arrow.
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
we get emails everyday selling copied kits from eagle, brian crower, carrillo etc etc.. they are made in china and passed off as real deal, there was even a USA company saying they were warehouse distrubitors offering me the kits for cheap money. there is load of USA and other EU traders and ebay selling these copied products. be nice if you could send those back to manufacture that made them (to say its wasnt me that made these). Chris Wilson
Genuine Eagle rods are made in China. To be honest there may be nothing wrong with some of this Chinese stuff, they are investing billions in tooling and technology, but in MY engines I put stuff in that I KNOW where it is from, and who made it. False economy otherwise. The UK has a fantastic motorsport engineering choice, and I like to support it where possible.

Hellstrom
3 grams, which end was that, big or small ????? 3grams was the total differense between the rods. i aslo stated that the bearing side and the piston pin bushing was spot on. dude
3grams was the total differense between the rods. i aslo stated that the bearing side and the piston pin bushing was spot on. 3 grams is horrendous dude, do you know how much that is at say 7000rpm ??? Also just weighing the rods means nothing, rods are balanced end to end, ie all the big ends need to weigh the same and so do all the small ends, i get all the weights down to within 0.1-2 grams OEM spec is around a max of 1 gram I believe. Hellstrom
Actually i might be abit off. when i bored my 7m i left all my parts to the machineshop for balancing and weight both pistons and rods, dunno as far as i remember it was 3g between the lighest and heviest. but i might recall wrong. or it was for the whole assembly it was 3g however the machiner said it was well in tollerance. might be way off tho. can't really say but the engine worked flawless mechanical wise. and i remember them saying there was no need to machine the rods and the pistons as they where well withing the given tollerance. might have been 0.3g difference then. with eagle rods and cp pistons. yeah i did some reading up Dude and the assembly should differ max 0.5g.
