Septic
Hey guys. I was hoping I could get some info from any guys who know about the aforementioned car. I've tried to find decent forums for the car but I can't find any. Do any of you guys own them? What are they like in terms of reliability, modification options and performance? Also, am I correct in assuming the Altezza is basically the japanese name for the Lexus Is200? Cheers guys.
Shane
Quite a few guys in the Outlawjapclub have them, in NA, Turbo and Supercharged forms. Have a look over there.
Benjy
Essentially they're an IS200, but have a Mines Yamaha tuned 3SGE engine, pokier version of the Mk2 MR2 lump. I supercharged one for a customer a few years back. Blitz do a kit that is connected to the throttle position sensor, so the electromagnetic clutch in the pulley kicks in with a bootful. They're pretty good, well spec'd up cars. Sent from my iPhone

Noz
You can modify them as much as you like, the beams IS200 is running 200bhp in a 2.0litre block with no modifications, good potential. I've seen 500bhp plus altezza motors running turbo conversions.
Septic
How easy are these FI conversions? ARe they simple bolt-ons or do I have to go down the whole forged internals route? Sorry I'm a bit oblivious about these cars. I'm on outlawjapclub now scouring for info. Anyone have any decent pics of nicely modded Altezzas? Benjy
The blower kit i fitted comes with everything you need. I didn't split the engine at all. I'd recommend a remap though before you belly it up the road! Nice little decat is always helpful too. Sent from my iPhone

sdistc
They're nice, especially with a 2JZ conversion

Septic
That would be nice. A nice VIP look, wide wheels + camber (Chris Wilson, I know you hate me) with a 2JZ inside would be brilliant.
Abz
Stop being so silly, you need a Supra not a Altezza (unless you now have babies) Adnan had one, as mentioned it has a Yamaha engine which revs very rapidly! Has almost motorbike like noise from the exhaust. Fairly quick too!

Hehe no babies for me but I need to build driver experience with some half decent cars before I can even think of getting insured on a Supra TT or 350z. Insurance companies hate me for some reason! Septic
You'd be surprised at the insurance on the Supra's, mine is cheaper than my Type R! Yeah but I'm getting silly quotes. Sky won't insure me on a 350z, Supra or R33GTST because of a 'lack of driving experience'. Man, I go Go-Karting every 3 weeks and have a Polo with a K&N air filter, K AND N FILTER MAN!! Silly world. Anyway, I think I'll go all VIP on the Lexus- they are so cheap these days, make Chris W cry with the ridiculous camber and low ride height and toy with sc'ing it. And sssh you, just 'cause you've just bought another Supe...in white as well! I would love one in white

Purity14
Why don't you get a daily beater, like a honda civic, or KDW's Supra thats cheap to insure and knock about in it day to day. Then get a nice shiny TT that you'll love and adore and insure it on classic? Sometimes works out alot cheaper.

We hardly have space here to park our cars let alone an extra one but it is something I've considered doing. I guess its good that I do transition into a Supra. 1.4 8v to a 3.0L straight six beast most likely = death
Purity14
Well get a motorbike and a Supra then, cos you'll have room to stick that im sure ..thats what I ended up doing Statistically death will be more forthcoming on a motorbike, so you'll feel safe in your new Supra
Septic
You are a strange man Mr Purity. But you do make sense. I don't think I'm ready yet for a Supra, financially or in terms of skill. The time will come however....
Shane
Just noticed that you are in London Septic, The outlaw jap club are having a meet at the Ace on Saturday 29th and there will be plenty of Lexus ISs there if you want to know more about them and see a few close up. Friendly bunch too.
