Dnk
RIP Dan Wheldon I was watching it live and some of the driving going on wasn't very good to say the least, a lot of them were saying that this track is simply too fast and was an accident waiting to happen. Soop Dogg
Really tragic news. Wheldon was also chasing a $5 million bonus if he'd been able to win after starting in last place. The plan was to split it with a fan if he'd managed to win. Sad bit at the bottom of the following article too about his mother who has Alzheimer's. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/racing/10/13/dan.wheldon.indycar.finale/index.html
merckx
They've said that his roll hoop broke. Wheldon's helmet hit the wall, causing an "unsurvivable head injury," IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard was quoted by Sports Illustrated as saying. Typical Daily Mail. Anyway, we've lost one of the great talents in motorsport and a genuinely nice guy this week. What a monumental tragedy. At least he went doing what he loved. RIP Dan.
