X factor, anyone else subjected to this rubbish?

So, i'm sat here in my front room, the misses is watching talentless people tell other talentless people how amazing they are and that they will 'change the world'. What utter, utter shite. I dont often swear on the forum, but this show makes me die a little inside. I can actually feel myself becoming more stupid every second it is on.

Rant over, i'm a little happier.

I watch it, I moan about it.... but I continue to watch it.

To be honest I think it's coming to the end of its life. The judges are hopeless and have absolutely no charisma at all, special mention goes to Louis the clown. The acts are OK but the judges don't have a clue what they are doing with the ones that can properly sing. The ones that CAN properly sing will get voted out due to the idiotic, fanatical, teenage dimwits voting for their favourite looking boything regardless of talent.

To cap it all off it's a singing competition where the producers insist the introduction song on a Sunday night is mimed. I'm not sure if the shockingly bad miming is deliberate or not but the hilarious part is when it's denied in interviews etc when it's there for all to see.

I cant stand it either, but im have tickets to it next week haha, i bought a charity auction prize on the radio, 1st class flights, hotel in london for 2 days and tickets with a meet and greet with the judges, something diffrent to do with the other half. Plus i will be giving that kelly rolland some of the patter.

I'm an x-factor and strictly widower, I don't particularly mind as the football/sport probably evens it out in the long run. I'm not sure there's any need for them to be on for five or six hours over two nights tho, and the spin off's during the week on top of that.

I'm glad some people share my hatred towards rubbish like this. The charts are already filled with these kind of useless, acts that cant sing and rely on a catchy instrumental and an auto-tuned vocal chorus to get them a number 1.

Can't remember the last time I actually approved of the song at number 1. Adele maybe and then its all the same. Commercial music just grinds my gears. I've done well to end my rant here!

There's been at least one thread like this for every recent series of X Factor. There will continue to be threads like it for seasons to come, until the UK broadcasters finally flog this televisual horse for the last time.

An awful lot of people must like it and watch it, not just Scott! :p I imagine that forums like handbag.com are full of threads saying, "OMG OMG!!!11!! X Factor tonite! Soooo much better than that Jeremy Clark racing around in silly cars!"

Perhaps the viewers like it for the soap opera that it is. No harm in that I suppose, as long as people see it for the showbiz circus it is.

I watched it last year cos Aguilera was on it as a guest singer. Why on earth anyone thought it was a good idea to have the poor "hopeful" try to duet with Aguilera singing "beautiful" is beyond me. Did they think something else was going to occur othar than Aguilera blowing her off the goddamn stage?

I was half expecting Freddie Mercury to crop up next.

I watch it every now and then... but I don't know why. The singers are awful. I get moaned at by my girlfriend because she says they are better singers than I am and who am I too judge (despite her not liking the show either), but the thing is... I am a judge, and so are the 7 other million viewers. And I say, they are all awful.

It's so full of crap as it's all about the money. I like Simon Cowell, I respected him for the fact that he came up with a brilliant idea for a money-making scheme (despite earning over £50 million a year), but he also left the show and leaving everything that is the UK, making us feel somewhat inadequate. It's rare to actually see someone come out of the show with something good. They have their money... now bugger off!

It's also repetitive! The same comment for every singer gets boring very quickly.

"You smashed it out there and we would love to see you next week"

"I can't decide which one of you is better... your both utterly terrible"

"I'm going to be honest here... I didn't like it... I loved it!"

"I'm going to put you through because the audience would love to see more of you... so the better singer must go"
