chilli
I broke the 7 minute barrier round the Nurburgring this morning (a quick go before work to wake me up) with a 6:59 time, still think there is a few seconds to shave off that time. If only I could do that in real life lol Anyone else got into this game? I'm not a big gamer these days but I think its the best racing game I've played ever, to date! hogmaw
Still has to be burnout 3 for me. New one out in a few months I canna wait
AJI
This game is big with us lot also... GT4 that is. There was a thread going a while back when we were all trying to beat each other's times. I know the track lilke the back of my hand now.... I've must have done 100's of laps upto now. Did quite a few laps on the endurance 24 hour race... choose a car which isn't quite as good so you have to put in your own laps to get back in front. Works a treat when you want to learn the track. chilli
GT4, fantastic game isn't it! Burnout, good for a laugh but hard to get down to serious racing with it IMHO. AJI, sounds like you're a lot more esperienced with the game than me. What's your best lap time round the Nurburgring and in what? I'm feeling quite pleased at the moment but I know someone will completely trounce my time, and that will give me something to aim for L
Bobbystone
I have only managed 7.32 in the Merc Mcclaren with about 700bhp. Any body tried doing a thread to see who is quickest with a stk standard supra and run a league:)
chilli
Maybe we should start one, although I'd prefer the toms '03, its more high paced and exciting! *grin*
tbourner
I've gotta get this game - only recently picked up GT3 Aspec again as haven't played it for ages. Also recently played Burnout3 for the first time and it's just not as much fun as the 'realism' of GT.
Jake
'scuse my ignorance, is this an XBox game or a PS2 game you guys are on about? No PC version I suppose?
Nic
If anyone wants a copy of GT4, I was bought one but if is not compatible with my PS2, make me an offer.
Fifty
Jake Its not gonna be made for PC iM SURE. gtr is a nice alternative; even got old Ford escorts for that now and lots of addons such as the ring.

Why would it be any more compatible with ours? I dunno about all the region stuff on DVDs!

chilli
Currently it’s a PS2 game only, I'd go as far as to say GT4 is sooo good it’s worth buying a PS2 for alone. You can pick up PS2's quite cheap now I agree, the realism, especially of GT4 is amazing, it’s almost a simulator not a "game". The graffiti on the Nurburgring track and the change of elevation/scenery make it really quite amazing! It has stock supra's and two Toms racing Supra's, not unlocked all the cars yet, there may be more to come. The overall choice of cars is amazing and they actually do go like the real thing, realism is a big part of this game now! I'm not convinced it will be released for the PC, this is a major major plus point for the playstation, always has been. To release it on other platforms would devalue the PS2 platform, IMHO anyway. Bobbeh
Any body tried doing a thread to see who is quickest with a stk standard supra and run a league:) No one has come close yet to my 7:46 with a Stock Supra with NO traction or driver aids, default sports medium tyres. That was the original competition... it should continue
SkyJawa
I'll take Forza - better graphics by far and just as good playability

Rob
I stopped playing GT4 a while ago having completed just the first basic series. I feel I need a wheel and pedals to really appreciate the game, but a) can't afford the DFP wheel, and b) my wife would SOOOOO take the piss if I sat there with a wheel clamped to the coffe table. Jake
my wife would SOOOOO take the piss if I sat there with a wheel clamped to the coffe table. LOL! Yeah, mine too. Perhaps if we wore a t-shirt like this to keep them in their place....
SupraStar 3000
does you wife wear costume jewelry when dressing up/going out? if so,... whats the difference?
chilli
I'd like a steering wheel too, but that money could buy me something for the real car lol. Also I always find they tend to go walkies just on a critical bend, leading to disaster! I get very limited time to play, so a league for one particular car and track would be great. I'll have a go in the stock supra, I expect my time will be dismal then! Under 8 mins sounds quite impressive. Yeah its hard to stay on the track, some of my best laps have been foiled by getting just two wheels on the grass and loosing it, especially when comming into the braking zone! With the Toms '03 its so quick that at a couple of points its easy to be airborne when you need to be hard on the brakes, that tends to lead to a messy ending! Hopefully get time to have a go tonight, its cheaper (and safer) than blasting in the real supe, My basic challenge for the moment is to beat 6:59 in the Toms '03 L
Stonkin
Have to say i love Forza to, but that is simply cos GT4 just will not play on my PS2, i have changed it 3 times, the first 1 worked for a week, the other 2 have never played, everytime now it just says error reading disk, but other games/cd's/dvd's play fine. I have had the whole thing to bits and cleaned it as well. Just havent tried it in another PS2 yet Christian

Mine is a UK consol and the game is definitly a UK game I just get the same error message. As you say all other games work fine. I bought mine through Amazon UK so it is a real hassle having to send it back again and again.
Stonkin
Very strange Nic, mine as far as i know are certainly both UK, game and PS2. It was just strange how the first 1 worked for a week, then it slowly got worse and then never worked. I'm sure the guys in the shop think i'm up to something dodgy byt always returning them. I'm gona try it on someone elses and see if that works, would really like to be playing it again
