im just being nosey and love the old muscle cars.My all time car would be a 1972 plymouth cuda.I have a passion for them but never owned one.I have this itch that needs a scratch so may look into getting something.

A matching numbers Cuda is serious money, the two I owned were cheap in comparison, I really like the older Camaro, Dodge Charger and the Roadrunner, they are great fun as a second car, they are quite easy to maintain and the parts are fairly cheap, they dont handle or brake that well in stock form through and the build quality is "interesting"

Believe it or not but I have had a Chrysler New Yorker, and Oldsmobile Cutlass, an Oldsmobile Toronado (7 litre plus front wheel drive, and an amazing car), and Didier Pironi's old Corvette Stingray. So my hatred of American cars is well founded ;) The New Yorker is the only car I have owned that was capable of running out of petrol on me, having a gallon put in from a can, then almost always running out again before I could find a petrol station. Bear in mind this was in the suburbs of Manchester, not out here in the sticks. I defy anyone to find anything that is none commercial that does less to the gallon than that bloody thing did ;) It was an ex Libyan embassy car, and I am sure it could have told a few interesting tales.

I don't have any pictures here but my brother in law had the car in a certain Mr P's avatar! A old lady put it up for sale after her husband died, It was in as new condition old X reg, still on original tyres, the lot. The old lady said it had never got wet and only has something like 12k on the clock. I think it was a 5.7 V8 turbo? It had the Gold Eagle(??) on the bonnet. Targa top. It had a well cool boost gauge in the bonnet bulge. Well, it was 3 yellow lights that lit up as it came on boost. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it.

Bit of shameless self appreciation, but this is my baby, built and loved by me :D If your thinking of getting a classic american car, I would recommend a 1969 camaro(sharknose, round headlights), or any mustang from 1965-68. Nothing else is worth the bother :) And believe it or not you can make a mustang go round corners very easily and well!
