Hi Christian,

I'm so glad that I spoke to JamieP as it was his initial suggestion that I contact you after meeting with him to purchase a carbon fibre panel. Jamie commented on how nice my Supra looked and that he used you to do some detailing work on his, which he found to be totally fantastic and that he's never met anyone who works hard on a car....sweat pouring off you!! I was hooked by his enthusiasm and just had to have my Supra done. In the meantime I had popped down to see Charlie's Supra (B'have) and saw what a fantastic job you had done on his so I was baited hook line and sinker ;)

Now that I've had mine detailed I am totally over the moon with it :D All the way home I had nothing but admiring glances and comments on how wonderful it looked, right from the off re the stable hand, I even had a couple of guys in a relatively new GTR offer to buy it off me there and then for £8k :D:D which totally made my day. Didn't take the offer though as I have something special in store for my Supra.....ain't that right Christian.... nudge: nudge: wink: wink!! :eyebrows::eyebrows:

The detailing job on the Supra really is a work of art and has even outshone my 996 and recently sold Vantage!! If you have any doubt in Christian's ability to produce then doubt no more....The pictures say it all and I am speechless but with a very happy and very wide grin!!! :D:D

Thanks again Christian, you're a great genuine guy who truly loves working on Supra's and a total credit to this website!!! :)

Hi Shane, i remember the last time doing Jamie's, it was such a hot day and working under a gazebo he luckily had. I'm not sure if it was hotter under there or out but it did a great job of keeping the sun off the car :D

The glances and comments you had on the way home are great news, lovely mate  Glad to hear you didnt sell the car, that could have definetly altered things :D

Thankyou for your comments mate, i love unwrapping the cars when customers arrive, although i think we only got a 1/3rd of it uncovered before you realised what was under there lol :D Will speak very soon mate, cheers

Question..

Some of paint readings are around 80 microns, is that not too thin for machine polishing?

Hi mate, as said in the writeup, i was a tad surprised by some of the readings, there is never a general rule but from past supra paint experience i would expect between 100 and 130 microns. The difference in this situation is that you are not polishing just a lacquered layer over a base coat but standard 2k finish. It also meant i was concervative with pad pressures in certain areas. Meguiars #80 is also a very light cutting polish, but it shows what can be achieved without jumping to heavy products. The nature of soft supra paint also helped here.

Thanks mate, clear explanation..The 2K finish would not have the separate layers, correct?

I also have a black Supra and I am a newbie to machine polishing... I have just purchased a DA, looking to get such a finish out of my car soon.. I also have terrible swirls..

The paint seems to swirl very easily on the black, I managed to inflict some with a Megs detailing brush and some APC...
