roboldham
Was driving into the office - fair clip - got a BZZZZZZZ noise briefly, sounded like it was from the front left of the car - like something rubbing against a fan or a wheel arch. Disappeared after about 5 seconds. Checked underneath motor and saw these (pics) - supposed to be there? http://www.riverweb.co.uk/rob/tubepic1.jpg http://www.riverweb.co.uk/rob/tubepic2.jpg

Ian C
It's the radiator drain hose. It's so you can drain the rad without filling up your undertray Buzz could have been a bit of debris off the road. Only worry if it carries on doing it... -Ian
Digsy
Can't say I've ever noticed a pipe there, but then again I've never looked. I think the buzz was the charcoal canister purging.

Scooter
I think the charcoal cannister is located at the back right of the engine bay and can gurgle/ buzz. Its some sort of filtration thingy, there are a few old threads on there purpose and cleaning them etc, don't think you'd hear it from inside the car though... I think I had better 'fes up to them and say I over-reacted :-) Still cant figure the BUZZZ noise - think I may have got some debris in the hub / caliper or something - I was doing about 165 leptons at the time. Scary. R

MONKEYmark
Originally posted by dudersvr Looks like the water drain from the battery tray to me John:flame Dev i would say same follow pipe back to source. think the rad drain pipe is white next to the drain tap. when i had a leak and found out it was the waterpump i had a pipe hanging down in middle of engine i thought it had come off turbo or something. turns out it is the waterpump overflow pipe. that pipe in pic is nothing to worry about

Ian C
Radiator drain hose, thankyewverrymuch. Besides, I've been under the car, wondered what it was, and traced it back all of four inches to... the radiator. -Ian
MONKEYmark
i would still go with the battery tray drain pipe. in the pic it looks too far set back to be radiator drain plug. when i fitted intercooler hard pipes there is 2 pipes that i remember. anyway they are not inportant like he was thinking something had come off have fun
