Dragonball
Hi guys Just a quick one - have just replaced my hoses with new SVH - all appeared OK - but tonight noticed it a bit 'sluggish' and doesn't feel like 2nd turbo coming in SBC-ID only shows me up to max 190 HP - a sure sign Anyone any guesses on where I should look tomorrow? Any hints? Cheers Paul

Terminator
Personally I don't like silicon hoses as silicon is naturally very slippery stuff. You will need to ensure all clips are done up tighter that the stock rubber hoses and you would be advised to put clips on the smaller bore hoses that did not need them with stock rubber hoses. You will just have to check all the new joints.
dude
a guy came in when i was fitting my FMIC and told me to put some hairspray on the joints before sliding the hose on . John
MONKEYmark
i put stork margerine on my hks intercooler hardpipes as it was a pain in the ass getting them rubber hoses on once you put them on they would not move to slide in position. second time i fitted them i thought margerine inside blue hoses worked a treat and made sure they were very tight with screws. never had a mins bother with them STORK margerine tip for today

THOR Racing
If it's hoses and 2nd turbo then I always check the tiny little hose connecting the VSV to the exhaust bypass actutor. It's about a 4m pipe, so tiny but can leave you without any 2nd turbo spoolup. Look at the exhaust, follow it back to the engine, you see the O2 sensor. further up is a mechanical valve and actuator arm. Follow this arm to the actuator and check the pipe from it to the VSV, which itself is located close to the front of the engine with the boost control VSV. Regards Pete

Regards Pete Thanks Pete So the wrist bone's connected to the arm's bone, the arms bone connected to the ect ect... Not a clue where this is - but basically my kack handed attempts can effect the spool up! back to the drawing board! Cheers Paul

(yes, no jokes please.. It makes it real easy to get pipes on and it evaporates quickly so that you are left with a nice dry relatively high-friction joint. Oil, grease, WD40 or indeed margarine isn't the best solution... You must have done them up very tight Mark! Cheers Nathan TDI PLC Oh, and no other real help on the thread as others have already said it....sorry Paul..
Dragonball
Yeah - back up and boosting!! Thanks to Pete and Phil - who were both correct Tiny 4 mm connect had come away deep under the bov area - need to get a good connector on it that wasn't required by the stock tubing Thanks for the link to the other pics m8 Cheers Paul
